"GO!"
Amy immediately hit the ball towards me, I smirked and quickly hitted it back to her far-left. She stumbled for a bit before she regained her posture to hit it back at me, the game continued of me and Amy quickly hitting the ball to each other that maybe even the scorekeeper couldn't keep up with us.
An hour later, it was 3-2. Of course, I'm the 3 cause.... of course. She was now panting for air, and I smirked at her which she responded with a glare. "Tired? You can rest now if you want." I told her, crossing my arms. She shake her head and stood up straight again, "Tired is only for the weak!" I rolled my eyes at her and grinned, "If you say so!" Before I hitted the ball back to her.
I was gonna laugh at her because I thought she couldn't catch up with the ball, but she did and hitted it back to me that made me off guard. She just won a point. I smirked, "Interesting.. you want a challenge?"
"I'll give you one." I said.

Sonic's POV:
"Uggh..." I groaned, bored. I was just watching some Bollygram videos from other people, but alot of them are boring and just about food and other stuff that they saw during the trip.
*Knock! Knock!*
"Who is it?" I asked loudly, still watching a bunch of videos. My door opened and I saw my Dad, "Sonic? Don't you want them to see them off? They're already on the docks." My Dad informed, looking at me. I looked at him for a moment and then looked back at my phone.
"No thanks." I answered, not interested. "Really? Your not even gonna bid them a goodbye?" My Dad said in a disappointed tone. I didn't answer and continued to use my phone. I heard my dad just sighed and closed the door. Why would I even want to see them off? That would be my other self in a parallel universe.
I sighed, as I set my phone aside. I just laid on my bed, the warm sunlight penetrating through my wide windows. I then remembered the things I told myself when I was crying under the tree, the person who you could only trust the most is yourself.
But I want to be stronger, I want to prove my past self that I can still save Aunt Cristina. Even when it's too late. But what's the point of being the best when she can't even see it?
My aunt made a mistake of showing kindness and letting her guard down to people around her, I've realized that in the cost of her own life. By trusting and being kind to other people, she got herself killed.
What's the worth of showing kindess to others? If in the end, they could still throw rocks and words at you like they never even knew you. Why pretend to be nice, when most of the time people only approach me to gain benefits?
I told you, I'm not the nice type. I never am.

Amy's POV:
"Amy! Are you almost done?" My mother asked, she's helping my father fit our bags inside the trunk of our car. "Yeah! Here it is!" I said, as I handed to my mother my bag. She gladly took it, before she bid Sonic's mom and dad a goodbye.
I was about to enter the car when Sonic's mom called me. "Amy! Can I borrow you for a second?" She asked me with a big bright smile. I was confused as to why she wants to talk but it isn't polite to say no to someone who housed you for a few days so I just nodded my head and walked up to her. "Zoe, can I?" She also asked my mom, with a sweet smile.
"Of course Mary! We'll just make sure that our bags aren't suffocating here!" My mother agreed, as she and dad went to the trunk once again to fix the bags. I then looked at Sonic's mom, she was beautiful and kind, but Sonic... he didn't like her. It makes me wonder as to why he doesn't like his own mother.
"So Amy, how was dinner last night?" She asked, with a smile. She then sat on a bench beside us, which she then invited me to sit beside her. I gladly took the seat and replied, "It was fine. But it was startling when Sonic arrived with a bunch of gaurds holding him down."
I laughed nervously, "And he looks edgy to me, if you don't mind me saying." She giggled, "Well.. he was always like that." Why though? As if she have read my mind, she then sighed.
"You don't mind me telling you about how he became like that?" She asked, with a faint smile. I nodded, curious on to why he is like that. "His attitude started when he was still turning 5. That was when his Aunt died, on his 5th birthday." She sighed, looking at the ocean.
"Wait. As a 5-year old, he already knows how to act like a cold person? That isn't a 5 year-old to me at all." I said, confused. She laughed, "Well... me and my husband weren't pretty much around when he was still little. That was when we were still starting our business."
"My sister was always around with him, therefore, it simply meant that they were close as two peas in a pod. She took care of him when we weren't always around, so you can kinda understand know why he always acts so cold in front of me." She said, fidgeting her fingers.
"So when his Aunt died, he started to show his cold and rude side to us ever since. I don't know why, but I know that you're the only person who could help him open up again." She said, looking at me.
"Me? Why me? We couldn't even have a normal conversation because we desirely hated each other so much." I said, as I crossed my arms. "Yeah. But somehow, he looks so comfortable when he's beside you. I saw you two talking to each other while watching the dolphins the other day, he looks pretty comfortable with you." She said, with a smile.
I sighed and scratched my head, "You might say that, but trust me, he isn't comfortable with me at all." I chuckled. "Oh telling me those things wouldn't work, my dear." She said, with a sly smirk. "So please go easy on him, he doesn't have a great past but I think that you'll be able to help him be himself again." She explained.
I hesitated to answer for a moment, since I didn't know how I would be of help. But I know it would make me feel guilty when I said I won't go easy on him. So I just nodded, "Okay, but--"
We were then interrupted with my mom calling me for me to come back, I looked at her and back at Sonic's mother. "Well, I guess this is a goodbye." I said. She nodded and gave me a smile before she stood up, "A goodbye for now." She winked before she walked up to my mother. "Wait, what now?" I muttered, following her back to my Mom.
We all said our goodbyes before we got in the car, my dad immediately started the car and drove back to the city. While sitting in the back, Sonic's mother made me think so much on why he acts so cold and distant to others. But maybe he has a reason on why, since we just can't assume based on Sonic's mother only.
It's best to hear it from him, if he does open up. But if what she said was true, then Sonic just has his guard up all the time because he's afraid that someone else would also have the same fate as his Aunt Cristina?
Ugh, all this thinking made my head hurt. I put on my airpods and just played some music, maybe it could lessen the pain a bit. If only he could open up, maybe others wouldn't be so hard on him.
But who could blame him?
