I slumped back on my seat and rested my head on my hand as I watched the people below one by one stand up and dance in the middle of the ballroom.
"Oh if he can dance also, it just proves that God really has favorites too," I muttered, as I watched Sonic stand up from his seat and stood beside his parents.

Sonic's POV:
As soon as my parents stood up from their seats, I followed them to the side as they watched the others dance in the middle. Waltz music started, and the people explode in giggles and laughter as they danced their way into the ballroom. "So Sonic, who's the lucky girl today?" Sally smirked as she pointed at the crowd of girls at the far end side of the room. Looking at me with impatient smiles.
"Yoohoo!"
"Over here!"
"Who shall I dance with this evening? Hmmm??"
I rolled my eyes at them and chuckled, "I've decided that I won't dance this evening. I'm too tired and my feet hurt."
"Aw, that's too bad." My mom commented, looking at me with a smirk. "Oh? Why is that?" I asked, my brow raised. She chuckled and patted my shoulder, "It's time for you two to take the spotlight, just like old times." I and Sally looked at each other, unsure of what to say.
"But Sonic just said that his feet hurt--" Sally was then cut off by my mom, "Sonic is fine! Aren't you, Sonic?" My mom asked as she looked at me with a glare. I went quiet for a moment and gave her a frown, here she goes again. I sighed and opened my hand for Sally to take, "I'm fine... let's get this over with." I saw my Mom smile at me as if she's won over me again, well it's true. I can't go against her wishes.
Sally sighed and took my hand, as the both of us walked our way to the middle of the ballroom. Once we got to the middle, we both turned to face each other. I placed my hand on her waist, and she placed her hand on my shoulder. "Even though it's forced, let's just enjoy this evening. Won't we, Sonic?" Sally asked with a cheerful smile.
I smiled, "Let's."

Amy's POV:
I watched Sonic and the girl go to the middle of the ballroom and started to dance, the people around them also joined. But it was obvious that all the attention was at them, but of course, they both look so graceful as they waltz.
I kept on observing them, and what I noticed was how Sonic was acting. He seems so peaceful and happy being with her, or am I getting kind of ahead? I shook my head to remove the thoughts I have and continued on watching him waltz with the girl. I then heard the curtains roll up again, and there I saw William with a smile.
"You're here again?" I asked.
"Well yeah, because we have sweets under there! They were so good, and it would be mean to not share them with you." William chuckled, as he gestured for us to leave. "Well, I have nothing else to do. And food sounds great, let's go!" I chirped, following him outside the balcony room. "Ah! I must show you this balcony, it's a shortcut to get down also." William said as he pointed at the hall to another staircase.

I followed him, but once I saw the ballroom again... all I saw was Sonic. He looked so... graceful... like a prince from a story. I watched him waltz through the room, catching any attention like mine as if he was a magnet. It made me stare at him, from this angle you could see sparkles forming around the two of them.
I was in awe.
"Hey! You there?" William asked, waving his hand in front of me. I shook my head and nodded, "Y-yeah! Let's go!" I said, as I quickly went ahead of him to the stairs. Once we got down, William then led me to the buffet table. And there, the both of us ate to our heart's content.
"I never thought you were the type to eat the bitter types!" William exclaimed before he ate a piece of strawberry cake. I nodded my head, "Yeah, everyone told me that every time I eat with them." The both of us chuckled, and before I knew it... I lost sight of William.
"William? William!" I called for him, but he was nowhere to be found. "Maybe he's watching the others dance?" I thought as I walked to the side where most adults were drinking and eating cakes. I wandered around there and to the other side of the ballroom, but he was still nowhere to be found. "Ugh, at this point I'll never find him." I groaned, caressing the bruise at my heel.
"And also, these heels hurt like hell," I muttered. Before I was about to check the other side again, a man who seems to be a bit older than me grabbed me and twirled me around and making me dance. "H-hey! Stop it!" I yelled at the dude whose grip I couldn't escape from.
"No way missy! You seem to be frowning! And I'm here to make you have some fun! This is a party after all!" The drunk dude laughed loudly as he kept on twirling me around. "If you do that--- I might get sick!" I yelled, trying to hold back from puking.
Sonic's POV:
"So how're your studies so far?" Sally joked. I rolled my eyes and led the waltz, "Sal, you know that I'm the star student remember?" I chuckled. She pouted, "Yeah! Wish I could exchange our brains. I'm having trouble with fast thinking so much that it makes my head hurt all the time." Sally complained.
Waltz was easy to remember since both of us were taught by my Aunt Cristina. My Aunt was very passionate about dancing and always dreamt of dancing with the man whom she loved very much. But sadly, I didn't get a chance to see her get married.
"Ah, how time goes so fast. I could still remember us crying because we couldn't get it right always." Sally giggled. I chuckled, "Yeah, your heels would always step on my feet. It hurts like hell." "Hey, I'm not the only one! One time you would also spin me around too much that it resulted in me puking." Sally laughed.
"I wish we would go back to those days... I miss her so much." I muttered.
Our eyes met, and I could tell that she too thought of the same thing. "Me too, Sonic. Me too." Sally whispered.
"Oh well! After this, I would help myself to the sweets at the buffet--!"
"AAHH!" I heard a girl screamed behind me as we bumped into each other.
3rd Person's POV:
As soon as Sonic and Amy bumped into each other, Amy desperately tries to hold on to something but she felt herself trip. Before she could felt her butt land on the floor a hand grab onto her back and wrist, but she couldn't see the person clearly because she was twirled so much by the drunk dude that it made her head spin.
"A-Amy?!" Sonic exclaimed in anger and confusion at her. Amy was taken aback, but she couldn't even utter a word from being spun like a thread on a needle. Before they knew it, all the lights in the room turned off leaving the crowd in shock. A spotlight then shone on Sonic and Amy, making the crowd see Sonic holding Amy in his arms.
Another spotlight was also shone on the stage, and there stood Sonic's mom with a smirk and a mic in her hand. "Mom?" Sonic blurted out. Sonic's mom giggled, "Hello everyone! Glad to see you enjoying the party so far! But let's toss all those things aside for the special event!"
"May we all congratulate Sonic 'Mexuis' and Amy 'Rosetta' for they are now engaged!"
The crowd gasped. Sally gasped. Sonic was in the lost for words. And Amy's head is still spinning.
And Sonic's mom just gave them all a fake smile, as she knew that her plan had just started.
