It was funny- quite ironic actually- how when the first time he tried to actually open up to someone (his supposed Soulmate at that), reality had to slap him once more right on the face with the harsh truth, making him realize, again, that in this cruel world you should never trust anyone but yourself. That making space for someone/anyone in your life will only guarantee a bigger degree of hurt and betrayal.
He should've known this, should've expected this... Should've been used to this. To Betrayal. But was he?
No.
It hurt as much as it did all those years ago, maybe more so now that he wasn't an utterly naive, lovesick and stupid teenager anymore. No matter how hard he tried- and succeeded to some extent too- to be emotionless, to be cold and unfeeling and heartless, to detach himself completely from the outer world, there'd always be that very tiny part of him that'd still go by his grandma's ideals.
