Ally

Ben and the Sixers are currently in NYC to play the Knicks. We got to spend Christmas Day together, thank god, but then he was on his way to NYC that night. I tried to get him to stay but he couldn't. Liam cried for about thirty minutes before I was able to calm him down.

Today I took him out to play in the snow. It's safe to say he didn't like it because he stood in one spot and whined the entire time. I sent the photos to Ben and he laughed.

Mi Amor ❤️🥵

LMFAOOO
my poor son

I laugh at that.

take him back in the house babe

I do just that, sitting him in his high chair and warming him up a little. I make him some apple sauce and he dances around in his chair.

"Is it yummy?" I ask him.

He ignores my question, eating his apple sauce. I send Ben the video.

life with a ten month old 🤦‍♀️

He reads the message, then types back some laughing faces. I lock my phone and put it face down, trying to decide what I want to make myself to eat.

Two weeks from now, I'll start showing in this pregnancy. We surprised our families with the news of our engagement and pregnancy yesterday, via Zoom. Everyone was excited for us which makes the fact that I'm both even more exciting.

Ben is hoping for another boy. I don't have anything against another boy, but I really do want a girl. My own mini-me. Somehow the boys always look like him.

I stand at the counter eating grapes because I can't figure out what to eat for the life of me. I don't even think I'm supposed to be eating grapes. They're acidic.

I groan. "What can I eat?"

I have to stay away from fish and things of that nature. I can't really eat nuts or acidic foods. I'm so helpless right now.

I turn to face Liam, who has apple sauce all over his face, hands, and bib.

"Liam." I frown.

"Mama." He claps his hands together.

"Look at you, you're a mess." I exclaim, going to clean him up.

"Ah!" He says.

I take him out of his high chair and upstairs to change his clothes. He's now just in a onesie with socks on to prevent his feet from getting cold. It isn't cold in here, but the floors are a little chilly.

I carry him back downstairs into the living room. I sit him in his play area, then sit down on the couch and watch him. The game is coming on soon and I still haven't eaten anything. I can fry me some chicken and make some mashed potatoes with broccoli.

That's harmless.

* * *

Now I'm sitting on the couch waiting on the game to start. Liam is in my lap causing trouble, per usual. Making noise and hitting the dog.

"Stop that." I say, grabbing his hand from Bane.

He grabs my finger and tries to bite it.

"No biting Liam." I pull my finger from his mouth.

He whimpers, starting to cry.

"Don't even try it." I warn him.

He tried to grab my finger again, but I pulled it away. I grab his chew toy and give it to him. I don't know why he insists on biting things that he shouldn't.

Like yesterday, when we were all laying in the bed together and he was laying on Ben's chest, he bit Ben's nose. I had to tell him that he couldn't do that. Even though Ben didn't wince or anything, Liam has to know the difference between right and wrong. I figure we start telling him this now and he won't feel so entitled.

The game officially starts and Liam is quiet. He'll see Ben on the screen and shout dada, but other than that he was occupied with his chew toy. Bane sat next to us, watching the game as well. Ben had got another dog, her name is Sophie. She's a little bit of a handful, but she's cute nonetheless.

Right now she's sitting at my feet chewing on her own chew toy. Bane is like the older brother dealing with his younger siblings. He protects Liam and Sophie with his life. These dogs mean the world to Ben, so I make it my duty to reassure him of their well-being.

I fed them a while ago, so they should be good on food. Other than that, they're well taken care of.

I watch the Sixers go at the Knicks, leading the game by five at the half. They're currently 1-0, which is pretty good right now. Then again, the season did just start.

When the game is over, the Sixers got the 108-89 win, which now takes them to 2-0. They have a pretty solid team this year.

With the addition of Doc Rivers as the new head coach, along with Seth Curry and reigning NBA Champions Danny Green and Dwight Howard, they have a pretty solid shot at the gold this year. It would be nice to see them go all the way.

As I'm trying to put Liam to bed, he decides he wants to throw a fit. I try everything I can, ultimately just bringing him into me and Ben's room. I lay him on top of the covers, with a blanket over him. He falls asleep in no time.

Sophie and Bane join us on the bed, creating a protective barrier around Liam. I grin and pat Bane on the back.

I receive a FaceTime call from Ben and I answer on the second ring.

Hey.
What's up?
Nothing really. Just making sure your son is asleep. He decided to sleep with me tonight.
Oh word?
Yeah. He's on your side.
So you just gone let him take my place like that?
Yup. But y'all can figure that out yourselves.

I turn the camera on Liam.

He's lucky he's cute.

I laugh, turning the camera back to me.

Did I see the dogs up there?
You sure did.

He gives me a face and I laugh.

You know how I feel about that.
They have separation anxiety. And you know how dogs get around pregnant women and babies.
Whatever.
They're good company.
Mhm.
Leave me alone.

He grins, chuckling a bit.

What's the next stop?
Cleveland.
Plane?
Bus.
I should've knew that.
Yes you should have.

I roll my eyes as he chuckles.

It's been a minute, okay?
That's no excuse.
I will cut you.

He laughs. Liam whimpers a little and I place my hand on his belly, shushing him back to sleep.

He's been crying for you all day today.
Awww.
And acting up too.
Haha.

I roll my eyes.

One day I'm gonna leave him with you the entire day and see how you like it.
You better not.
I damn sure will.
Ally.
Y'all hear sum?
Ima beat ya ass.

I laugh. I watch someone's hand go upside his head and I laugh harder. He glared at the person, then rolled his eyes and looked back at me.

They are definitely not playing with him when it comes to me.
