Ben

Ally is in her 31st week of pregnancy and she's getting crankier by the minute. She's complaining about pains that she's feeling here and there. I try my best to help where I can, but it doesn't seem to be working. I know there's nothing smooth about pregnancy, but I'm tired of sleeping on the couch.

"Alright cranky pants, move over." I exclaim, walking into our room.

"Get out." She replies.

"No, I'm not leaving." I stand my ground.

"Then I'll leave." She says, standing up out of the bed.

See? Cranky.

"Get your behind back in the bed Ally." I say.

She ignores me and continues to make her way out of the room. I follow behind her.

"Ally, what's wrong?" I ask her.

"Leave me alone."

I watch her attempt to get down the stairs.

"Can you help me?" She asks.

"Oh now you want my help." I joke.

She squints her eyes at me as I help her down the stairs. When she gets into the kitchen, she moves me off of her so she can do what she has to do. She's eating smaller these days, but I guess that's just what was suggested.

"Can you tell me what's up with you now? I'm concerned." I ask.

She sighs, continuing to do whatever it is she's trying to do.

"Fine then, don't tell me." I give up.

"Jasmine's pregnant." She says.

Time stands completely still as she says those words.

"13 weeks to be exact." She mumbled.

"Are we talking about the same Jasmine?" I ask.

She nods.

"What? When? How?"

"I trust that you will speak of this to no one." She said.

"No no, of course not."

She puts her spoon down. "We went to the doctor three weeks ago. They confirmed that she was ten weeks pregnant at the time, so you add three weeks to then and now she's 13 weeks along."

"Okay, I get that." I say. "But how?"

"The same way we got pregnant. Duh." She shakes her head.

"With who?"

"Her boss."

I raise my brows in surprise. "She got it like that?"

She nods at my question.

"Wow."

"Yeah, I know." She said. "There's more to this story than meets the eye however."

I sit down on the stool. "I'm listening."

"The man is married." She says.

"No way." I gasp.

"Yes way."

"Is she serious?" I ask.

"Dead serious."

With the way I'm reacting, it sounds like we're gossiping.

"Go on." I say.

"She didn't find out until their last hookup." She said. "I don't know how long they'd been hooking up since then, but their last time is when she conceived."
