Chapter 35: Chances

Yeonjun's POV:

Like a fool I was running towards the direction of the playground where I promised where I'll meet Ryujin, I was covered in sweat and I know that I'm not in my best state to see her, like dude I know that I still have coal stains on my face but I don't care anymore, I need to see her, right now.

I took my phone out and I felt more nervous after checking the time, it's already 4:17 in the morning, I dialed her number but she's out of reach, I kept on calling her but no use because I can't contact her, please tell me that she went back to the rest house already.

"Ryujin-ah! Shin Ryujin!!"

I kept on calling her name when I reached the playground looking for any sign that she's still here, I looked at the slides, the seesaws, I looked everywhere and when I reached the last bench near the garden that's when I saw her.

"Aish Shin Ryujin!"

I muttered to myself as I approached her, she was sitting on top of the grass while her arms were on top of the bench with her head resting on top of her arms, she was fast asleep as I knelt in front of her sleeping figure while I tried to wake her up.

"Get lost can't you see I'm sleeping?"

She said with furrowed eyebrows with her eyes still closed, if it's in another situation I would tease her because I find it cute that Ryujin talks in her sleep but I'm so damn worried about her, it's freaking 4 in the morning she's all alone here only wearing a hoodie while bearing through the cold and it's all my fault.

I tapped her cheeks a few times until she slowly opened her eyes, I reached for her hands and they were freezing cold.

"Yah you should have went home when I didn't arrive by 9pm"

I kept her hands in between mine and I tried to keep them warm, when I glanced at her face her lips were so pale, aish she will get sick if she keeps on getting exposed to the cold atmosphere, I placed both of her hands on top of her lap and I was about to remove my padded jacket when she stopped me.

"You'll get cold if you remove your jacket Yeonjun-ah"

She said with a reassuring smile and he patted my cheeks, feeling her cold hands on my cheeks made me look at her worriedly, I held both of her hands and I wrapped them around my waist, Ryujin looked at me with her puzzled expression when I also wrapped the jacket that I was wearing around her and I engulfed her in a hug.

"Yah I'm not a pea what are you doing?"

She let out a chuckle but she eventually snugged herself closer towards me and she hugged me tighter, even if I'm still wearing my jacket it was enough for me to wrap it around her whole body since she's really small compared to me.

"Keeping you warm aish this is all my fault"
