Second Sphere

Tony

The gauntlet continues to change hands. From Clint to T'Challa. And from T'Challa to Peter. I fly down when I see him getting surrounded and pick off any Peter can't take care of. When the ships start to rain fire around us I tackle Peter covering us both with my wings to shield us from the blasts. When it subsides we are both overrun.

"Hey, we need some help. We have to get him moving." I call out on the coms as Peter does the same.

"Hey Queens, heads up." Steve calls before throwing the hammer. Peter manages to latch on and takes off flying as I finish off this group of aliens. Once I do I fly back up, weaving between blasts raining down. I see Bucky not far off and fly down to meet him just in time to shield him with my wings as a blast hits us both. We are thrown to side and I groan.

"Hi again." I groan, rolling off from on top of him.

"Hey, birdy." Bucky says back, equally out of breath.

All of the firing suddenly stops and we look up. The guns start firing into space.

"What the hell is this?" Sam asks.

Something, or rather someone, flies through the ship, causing it to crash down into the lake.

"Danvers, we need an assist here." Steve says on coms.

I make my way over to her, where she is standing in front of Peter with the gauntlet in hand.

"I don't know how you're going to make it through all that." He says.

"Don't worry." Wanda starts.

"She's got help." Okoye finishes.

We all surround Carol, clearing a path for her. Valkerie, Wanda, and myself each take down one of the giant space whales. While the others fight below. Suddenly a blast sends everyone below flying. The van was completely destroyed, and with it our only way to get the stones back to their own timelines.

Thanos goes for the gauntlet and we all try to stop him. Steve and I hold him back as Thor tries to push his axe through his chest but he throws all of us off. I look up to see Thanos with the gauntlet on, punching Tony away.

"I am inevitable." Thanos says snapping. But nothing happens.

"And I am Iron man." Tony snaps a flash of light and energy being emitted. There's a running sound as the monsters begin to dissolve into dust. Thanos sits down and then crumbles into nothingness

Tony stumbles and I rush over and catch him, easing him down onto the ground.

"Hey, I got you." I say softly.

"Hey feathers." He grunts, leaning back against the rubble. He's clutching onto my hand. "You're going to have to tell him that I forgive him." His breathing is already shallow and I shush him.

"I'll tell him Tony. Don't worry about us, we've got you." I try and give him a reassuring smile but I can feel the tears in my eyes.

Rhodey lands next to us, kneeling down and i back away giving them a chance to say what they need to.

Peter isn't far behind, "Mr. Stark." He rushes over his breathing shaky, "Hey! Mr. Stark. Can you hear me? It's Peter. We won, Mr. Stark. We won, Mr. Stark." He's repeating himself. "We won! You did it, sir, you did it. I'm sorry." Peter is crying and Pepper guides him up before I take Peter into a hug so Pepper and Tony can say goodbye.

Peter sobs and I wrap my wings around him and let him cry. I can feel a few tears escape but I try and hold it together. I can hear Pepper telling Tony he can rest and I feel my heart break. Each of us look on heart broken as Tony passes.
