Walker gets up slowly, strapping the bloody shield back on his arm. He gives a slow look around and for the first time notices everyone. I turn and see Bucky and Sam among the crowd, both shocked at what happened. He takes off in a dead run and I look to Sam and Bucky and they give me a nod.

We follow at a distance, myself high in the air tracking and giving call outs on Walker's actions to Sam and Bucky. When Walker enters an abandoned building I land and we regroup before quietly entering the warehouse.

Walker is on the ground kneeling over the shield when we enter, but after a moment he rises to his feet and starts walking towards us.

Sam is the first to say anything his tone cautious, "Walker."

"You guys should see a medic, you don't look so good." Walker says as he paces.

"Stop Walker." Sam says more firmly.

Walker scoffs, "What? You saw what happened. You know what I had to do. I killed him because I had to! He killed Lemar!" Walker is shouting by the end of it.

"He didn't kill Lemar, John." Bucky says calmly. "Don't go down that road. Believe me, it doesn't end well."

"I'm not like you." Walker sneers.

Sam tries to reason and deescalate the situation. "Listen, it was the heat of the battle. Okay? If you explain what happened, they may consider your record. We don't want anyone else to get hurt. John, you gotta give me the shield man."

John looks up, glancing between the three of us. "Oh, so that's what this is. You almost got me."

Sam shakes his head, "You made a mistake."

"You don't want to do this." John says lowly.

"Yeah, we do." Bucky says coldly.

We all lunge into action and I can hear the sharp clang of metal on metal when Bucky's fist connects with the shield. Walker manages to kick Sam hard down to the ground so Bucky and Walker go hand to hand. I try to make my way behind Walker to try and restrain him but he manages a well placed kick into my leg that knocks me to the floor.

Walker is about to slam the shield down into Bucky when Sam kicks him, extending his wings and managing to hit him again. As I get up, I can feel the sharp pain in my leg from the kick but nothing seems to be broken. The back and forth hand to hand combat is all evenly matched among us but Bucky has the edge up, punching into the shield and driving him back against a steel beam. Walker manages to duck around Bucky as Bucky's fist tears through the beam. Walker tosses the shield into Sam, who collides back into me and we both go down. With the shield picked up Walker then tosses it into Bucky who hits a forklift.

"Why are you making me do this?" Walker shouts before tossing Bucky hard across the room.

Sam lunges into Walker but is quickly knocked down and Walker raises the shield slamming it down. I don't have time to pull him out of the way so I extend my wing to cover it and hear a sickening crack at the top of my wing. The pain that follows is like fire and I let out a scream. I go to clutch at my wing but that just intensifies the pain and I fall forward on my hands and knees.

"This isn't you John." Sam tells him, now back on his feet. Distracting John from my vulnerable position on the ground.

"We could have been a team!" John shouts back.

The rest of the fight passes in a blur as I struggle to get up with my broken wing I just give in and stay on the ground.

At the end of it Bucky tosses the shield to Sam before making his way over me. His voice is barely loud enough to be a whisper as he helps me up off the ground being extra gentle with my broken wing, "Let's go birdy." We leave Sam and Walker behind us as we hobble outside.
