"James, condition of your release, session now. You too, Sam." She says walking towards a door.
"That's okay. I'll be out here with-" Sam starts.
"That wasn't a request." Dr. Raynor cuts hun off and I snicker. "You will be in with me after Magdalene."
"Oh shit." I mutter.
It doesn't take too long for them to talk it out, maybe ten minutes or so.
Sam walks out. "You're up Lene."
"Where's Bucky?" I ask getting up from the chair.
"Couples session." Sam smirks.
"Just perfect." I mutter making my way to the interrogation room turned temporary office.
"Well this certainly sets the mood." I say sarcastically sitting down in the chair next to Bucky.
"It does doesn't it." Bucky adds just as sarcastically.
"Alright enough you two." Dr. Raynor says, putting a stop to our antics. She turns to me, "James told me you pushed him out a plane Magdalene. Is that true?"
"It was more of a gentle tap." I say, but Dr. Raynor's glare has me correct the statement. "Technically. Yes. But he started it."
Bucky scoffs, "'but he started it' what are you five?"
"I offered you a path down but you didn't want any help. You weren't moving and I needed to get out of the plane too." I retort.
"Alright this is getting nowhere. Look at me both of you." Dr. Raynor commands. "You two were partners for years-"
"She was my handler not my partner." Bucky spits out.
"Do you think I wanted to do any of that? Wanted to see them treat you like that, treat me like that. I didn't have a choice." I tell him.
"Then why did you go back, why did you choose to go back to killing?" Bucky asks me, his tone angry.
"Because I thought I had lost the one thing I had left that mattered. I failed. And I was looking for a way to correct that." I explain but Bucky turns away to get up. I grab onto his arm before he can leave. "Bucky, I did the only thing I knew how to do without you. I know I fucked up. I know I made the wrong choice and I'm going to have to live with that. But can you at least work along side me? Please?"
Bucky waits a moment thinking it over before nodding. "Alright."
I sigh in relief, letting go of the cuff of his jacket and sitting back in my chair.
"You can go James, I'm going to stay with Magdalene a bit longer." Dr. Raynor tells him.
Bucky nods again and walks out the door.
"I would call that progress." Dr. Raynor says.
I put an arm over my eyes and groan. "Some progress, now at least he can stand in the same room as me instead of hating me."
"He doesn't hate you." Dr. Raynor sighs.
"Oh really?" I scoff in disbelief.
Dr. Raynor ignores it, "What makes you think he hates you?" She asks.
"Have you seen the way he glares at me, he can't stand to be near me. Not to mention the anger." I tell her.
"To be fair you did push him out of a plane. You could have waited, you have wings." Dr. Raynor responds nonchalantly.
"That bit was petty. But it's not like he was necessarily being a saint either." I say in my defense.
"You can't control what James is going to do. But how you react to it, that you can control. And as long as you don't go on another hunting spree I would say you're on a good path back into good graces." Dr. Raynor says.
"Doc. It's been a long day. Can we talk more another time?" I ask.
"We can." Dr. Raynor excuses me and I walk back out to the others.
