I'm coming with you

"She said what? Alright hold on, hold on. I know, I know. Listen, pack an overnight bag and take the boys." Sam speaks quickly into the phone.

"What happened?" Bucky asks Sam, his words echoing my own thoughts.

Sam holds the phone to his chest to muffle his answer to Bucky. "Karli called Sarah. She threatened my nephews." Lofting the phone back to his ear Sam continues, "Okay. Go somewhere safe. Only pay cash. Alright? Let me know when you get there." There's a brief pause, "I know. Look, I love you. I'll never let anything happen to you and the boys. You know that. Okay. Bye."

Sam hangs up the phone and stops walking looking between Bucky and myself. "Karli wants to meet. She left a contact number."

Right on cue his phone chimes. Sam reads the message and his worried frown deepens, "She said come alone."

"I'm coming with you." Bucky says without hesitation.

Sam looks to me and I nod in agreement. "There is no way we are letting you walk into this by yourself."

We make a sharp turn and walk back to the house. As we get ready there is a grim determination, we don't know if we are walking into a trap or not but Karli has gone too far by bringing Sam's family into this. The solemn attitude continues as we approach the address.

I fly my way to the top of the building, peering down into the open courtyard. Hopefully it isn't needed, but I'm extraction in the worst case scenario. Other than that, just surveillance.

Sam briskly walks into the courtyard with Bucky following quickly behind. "Karli!" Sam shouts and it only takes a couple of seconds for her to pop her head over the side of the balcony on the second floor.

They make their way up and I carefully watch from my vantage point while I listen in on the com system.

"You called my sister? That's how we're gonna play this?" The anger is evident is Sam's tone.

"Sam, I would never hurt her. I just wanted to understand you better." Karli is casually leaned up against a pillar as she talks.

My eyes dart to follow Bucky's movements as he walks around a corner placing himself at a further distance from the two.

"I see you didn't come alone." Karli says to Sam.

Sam ignores her comment, "You have to end this now."

"I don't want to hurt you. You're just a tool in the regimes I want to continue to destroy. You're not hiding behind a shield. If I were to kill you, it'd be meaningless."

Sam shoots a look at Bucky behind him and I can imagine how he must be wanting to comment on her audacity.

Karli continues her monologue despite this, "I was gonna ask you to join me. Or do the world a favor and let me go."

Before Sam can respond, we hear Sharon come in on the com system. "Hey Sam, new Cap is moving. Looks like he's found them or maybe they found him."

Sam turns to Bucky, "It's Walker."

Before I can move the fighting has already started.
