Pandemic

I woke up with Emma still asleep next to me. Both of our productions got put on hold because of the pandemic, so we didn't have to work.

As I shuffled out of bed, I felt Emma reach out for me. I got back in bed since she seemed to want me to stay. I felt her stir a bit before her eyes fluttered open. "Good morning!" I said to her as she awoke. She muttered a good morning before pulling me back down to where she was lying and snuggled into me. I wrapped my arms around her, and I felt her hold on me grow weaker.

Once I knew she fell back asleep, I went in the living room and turned on the TV. I was watching the news about everything going on. The cases kept going up and everyone is required to stay home unless you're an essential worker. I made myself some cereal as I was watching. Once I finished making it, I made a bowl for Emma.

As I was making it, she came out into the kitchen wearing one of my shirts. "Are you watching the news?" She asked, looking to see what was going on. "Yeah. Everyone's required to stay home and not leave unless you are an essential worker." I said, as I passed her the cereal.

As she ate she spoke up again. "If we have to stay home, we will be spending a lot more time together wont we?" she said, with a smirk on her face. "I guess we will. That's exciting." I said, thinking about how both of us don't have to work for the foreseeable future. This pandemic sucks, but I get to be locked in the house with Emma so it's not all bad.
