Burden

(Y/n) had always felt like a burden. He felt like he had to compete for his families attention, or simple praise from them. However, all the praise and attention went to his older sister. In his parents eyes, she was perfect, and he was not. 

He even auditioned for Harry Potter so his parents would be proud of him. He got the part, but they weren't proud. They didn't really care because his sister had gotten straight A's and he had not. He loved acting in the movies, and eventually he stopped trying to get them to be proud of him by the movies, he just had to try something else. 

So he started to play sports, specifically golf. Contact sports weren't allowed since he signed the contract for Harry Potter. He was actually really good at it too, but his parents still didn't care. So, (Y/n) gave up. He didn't want to try to compete for his parents love and attention, he knew he would never get it. Because compared to his sister, he would never be good enough in his parents eyes, and he would just have to accept it. (Y/n) still tried to get their attention, but he wouldn't be sad when he didn't get it because he had expected the outcome already. He even started to believe he wasn't good enough for anyone. 

(Y/n) didn't tell anyone why he really auditioned or why he started to play golf, or any of his feelings, but Emma had figured it out on her own. Emma was smart, and she had figured it out because her brother had confessed to her sometimes he felt that way compared to her because she was so famous, so she took how her brother was when he felt like that and found (Y/n) acted like that all the time. 

(Y/n) acted like he always had someone he needed to impress or show off any form of achievement he earned. And when they started dating, she tried to make sure he felt cared for and that he was good enough. (Y/n) appreciated Emma more than she would ever know, and how she always made him feel happy inside, and she was proud of him no matter what small achievement he had earned. For once in his life (Y/n) felt special. He never had to compete for his parents love and attention, because getting those from Emma was so much better.
