Cactus

Emma and I were out on the town looking for plants to put in our new garden that we were making. As we looked through rows and rows of different plants, Emma had found a few pretty ones and ordered them.

We walked around a bit more and looked at some plants just for fun, when I found an interesting plant. "Hey, what's this plant?" I said as I picked it up and gripped it. I quickly dropped it while holding my hand in pain. "Shit! What was that?!" I said as I looked at my throbbing hand, and back at the plant, I noticed it had prickly spike things on it.

Emma stood there looking amused yet horrified at what happened. "(Y/n)! That was a cactus! Are you okay?!" she said as she looked at my hand, trying to see if it was bleeding. She grabbed it and put a bit of pressure on it before I hissed in pain. "Uh oh. I think the needles from the cactus are stuck in your hand (Y/n). We might have to go to the hospital." Emma said, nervously. I nodded my head and we got in the car and drove to the hospital.

When we arrived and got checked in, I sat on the table with the doctor next to me. "So, what happened here?" the doctor said as he observed my hand. "We were shopping for plants when I saw this interesting one, so I picked it up but grabbed it too hard. Turns out it was a cactus and now all the sharp things are stuck in my hand and I cant get them out." I said as I looked away from the doctor, embarrassed that I was this stupid.

He and Emma shared an amused glance before getting his tweezers. After a few hours, all the needles were removed from my hand and I had a cast on it. "Well, that was exciting." I said as we drove home after a long day. "Yep. I cant believe you did that (Y/n), sometimes I don't know why I'm engaged to you." Emma said, shaking her head in disbelief. "It's cause you love me." I said, while smiling at her. "You're right. I love you, even when you pick up a cactus and get all the prickles stuck in your hand." Emma said, looking at me lovingly. I'm glad I get to marry her, she's the best girl ever.
