"Shh. Buddy you have be quiet, she can't know we're hiding in here." (Y/n) whispered to his son, as they were hiding in the blanket fort they had made in Michael's room. Michael kept giggling whenever he thought he heard his mother enter the room, when in reality she wasn't even home yet.

They both heard the front door open, along with heels clicking on the wooden floors. (Y/n) put a finger on his lips, trying to tell his son to be extra quiet. Michael repeated the action made by his father and they waited. "(Y/n)? Michael?" Emma had called out, looking for the two boys she loves so much and wanting to spend the rest of the day with them. (Y/n) put his hand on Michael's mouth, covering it and stopping the giggles from giving away their spot.

The father and son heard the footsteps get closer and closer to the room, and soon the door opened. The fort was set up in the corner of the room, hopefully less noticeable. Both boys heard Emma walk into the room, hearing the heels she was wearing stop clacking as she walked on the carpeted floor. "Are you two in here?" Emma said, looking around the room, paying no attention to the small blanket fort in one corner of the room. A few muffled giggles slipped out from the fort, and Emma smiled brightly at the noise.

She had recognized the giggle to be her son's and went over to the fort in the corner. Emma had to admit, (Y/n) did a pretty good job building it, along with Michael's help of course. All the sheets and blankets from Michael's crib located on the other side of the room, were gone, along with the pillows from the living room sofa. There were also a couple of books Emma would read to Michael missing from the small bookcase that was located by the door next to the rocking chair, where her and her son spent so many nights sitting on and reading different bedtime stories. A bunch of Michael's toys were also missing from the small room, along with his favorite stuffed animal. Emma presumed all those things were located on the inside of the fort her family was in.

Emma opened what she thought was the entrance to the fort to be met with her husband and her son playing with his toy blocks together. "This looks fun." Emma said, as the two turned to face her. Michael smiled at his mother's presence, as she sat next to him. "We did a pretty good job building it. Right buddy?" (Y/n) asked his son. Michael nodded and said something none of the parents understood, but they took that as a yes. Michael continued to play with his toys, handing one to Emma and (Y/n).

Michael had given Emma one of his favorite toy cars and his favorite stuffed animal, along with (Y/n) getting the usual car he used when playing with his son. Emma smiled and kissed both of Michael's cheeks at the idea of being trusted with her son's favorite toys, since (Y/n) is usually the only one who gets to play with them. Although nobody ever got to play with his favorite stuffed animal he had gotten when he was born, which was a cat, so Emma was beyond happy he trusted her with it. Emma placed Michael in her lap as they all played with the toys in the fort together. The family spent the rest of the day together in the blanket fort playing with Michael's different toys he had and reading his favorite bedtime stories.
