Birthday Surprises

Tomorrow was Emma's birthday, and we both were working on productions. Hers was in LA, and mine was in New York. So, for her birthday, I decided to surprise her in LA and take her out for dinner at a fancy restaurant.

I woke up and got all my stuff packed and went to the airport. I got on the plane and spent about four or five hours on the plane, before landing in LA. When I arrived, it was about time for dinner, so I went to the hotel and had dinner there before going to bed. Tomorrow was going to be the best.

I woke up the next day and sent Emma a good morning text, not saying happy birthday. I was going to look like I forgot so when I surprise her it's even better.

Emma POV:

I woke up to a good morning text from (Y/N). He didn't mention my birthday, but maybe he was going to do that later? I called him and he answered the phone right away. "Hey Em! What's up?" he asked. "Oh, nothing. I just wanted to say hi. Do you know what day it is?" I asked, hoping he would remember. "It's April 15th why?" he asked.

He really forgot my birthday.

"Oh, no reason." I said, trying to hide my sadness and anger. I hung up the phone quickly and got ready for the day, hopefully others remember. I just wish my boyfriend did too. I'm so going to yell at him when I see him again.

(Y/N) POV:

After my phone call with Emma where it looked like I forgot her birthday, I went out and got flowers, along with a new suit. The day went by quickly and soon, it was time for the surprise. I got my suit on and drove to her house. The lights were on, so I knew she was home.

I got out of the car and knocked on the door. Emma opened the door and said "Yes?" not expecting to see me at the door. Her face turned into shock as she saw me standing there as I said, "Happy birthday!" and gave her the flowers. "I thought you forgot!" she said before she slammed her lips onto mine. "How could I forget a special day like this one?" I said once we stopped kissing.

"Go get dressed up, we are going out for dinner. A birthday dinner!" I said as I walked into the house. "Alright, give me a few minutes." She said as she disappeared into her room, coming out twenty minutes later in a nice red dress. "I'm ready." She said to me as I was waiting by the door.

"Good. You look stunning." I said as I held the door open for her. The dinner was perfect, and we came back to her house after and had some cake. "This was the best birthday ever, even if I thought you had forgotten all day." She said as she took a bite of cake. "Well, I'm glad it was. I love you Em." She kissed me before saying, "I love you too (Y/N). Thank you for the surprise."
