Emma and (Y/n) were finally back at home after a few days in the hospital. Emma had given birth to their first child, Michael, a few days ago. The doctor had given Emma a week of bedrest since the birth had made her very exhausted. There had been a complication, which had been more tiring for Emma. Michael was born with a heart defect, and it had caused the labor to be harder on Emma, which now had meant she needed rest to recover. Everyone was okay and healthy though.

However, Emma was not fond of this idea of bedrest because she wanted to help around the house and with the baby. When they had arrived home, (Y/n) made her go sit in bed, starting her bedrest. "(Y/n), I'm fine. Really. I don't need bedrest. I can help around the house, and with Michael." Emma told her husband, who shook his head in response. "Nope. Doctor said bedrest. So that means, you go sit in bed and rest. Doctors orders Em." (Y/n) told her, walking her inside of their room and closing the door. Emma got in bed and complied with what (Y/n) said, as he went off and took care of Michael.

After about twenty minutes, (Y/n) came back into their room with some food for Emma. "I thought you might be hungry so, I made you food. And you don't have to get up and can keep following doctors orders. I have everything handled." (Y/n) stated, as Emma took the food. "If you have everything handled, where's Michael?" Emma challenged, hoping there was something she could do that was not sitting in bed and possibly taking care of her son. "He's asleep. Why? Do you not think I have everything completely fine?" (Y/n) asked, his expression faltering a tiny bit. "No. Just wanted to see him was all. He's going to need me eventually. Can you bring him in here soon?" Emma questioned, (Y/n) nodding his head. He kissed her cheek and left the room. Once he had left, Emma ate her food and went back to reading her book. As she read, she heard the faint cries of her son in the other room and started growing worried that he might have needed her or was hurt.

Just as she was about to get up to go check on him, the noise stopped. Then there was a knock on the door, (Y/n) entering with Michael wiggling in his father's arms. "He wanted to see you. Probably missed you. I'll leave you two alone." (Y/n) explained, putting Michael in his mother's awaiting arms and leaving the room. Emma admired the boy in her arms for a few minutes, before feeding him. Once he was done, Michael fell back asleep in her arms. Emma kissed his forehead, watching her son sleep peacefully.

After a very long and boring day, (Y/n) had told her all that he had done, and he had gotten a lot done. (Y/n) fell asleep quickly, as he had a long day and was exhausted. Emma stayed up for a couple more minutes reading, and occasionally watching her husband sleep peacefully next to her. Emma shut her book, marking her page, and turning the lights off. Before she fell asleep, she kissed (Y/n)'s cheek. "I love you so much (Y/n). I don't know what I would do without you. You're the best husband and father anyone could ask for." She whispered, before falling asleep in his arms.
