Trouble

Michael entered the house once school was over and was met with his mother, who didn't look too happy with him. "Hi?" He greeted, trying to remember if he did anything that would get him into trouble with his mother in the past few days.

"Take this." Was all she said while handing him a cup. He observed it for a second, realizing it was a drug test. "A drug test? You think I'm doing drugs?" He questioned, and she nodded. "I know you are." She responded, making Michael grow more confused. Normally Emma trusted him, and he knew that, so it was weird that she was doing this instead of just asking him.

"You could've just asked instead of instantly assuming I was. And I will tell you I haven't been." Michael told her. "Take the test. And don't even think about going out at all until further notice. Only going to school and back, and your not hanging out with William ever again. Also no video games." Emma instructed, walking off and going to her home office.

"Now that's not fair! You don't have any proof I've been doing anything bad!" He protested, making Emma turn around. "It's very fair! I trusted you Michael! I trusted that you wouldn't be doing anything bad or anything that could get you into danger! And you broke my trust!" She yelled. "I haven't been! I haven't done anything wrong!" He defended. "Prove it! One of your friends has been doing it, so of course you would as well! I raised you better than this! Take the test!" She exclaimed, going into her office and shutting the door, ending the argument there.

Michael had quickly realized why she was doing this. His friend William had been smoking weed, but he said it was okay because it was legal. Michael didn't ever take any of it or smoke it, he knew better. But his mother didn't believe him. So, he took the drug test and gave it to his mother once he finished.

"Done. And just for the record, I haven't ever touched a single drug. I'm innocent, and the test is going to be negative." He told her before walking out of the room, and going upstairs. He was mad at his mother, after all she wouldn't trust him when he said he hadn't done it, and she always trusted him. What made this time so different? And as soon as he left the room, Emma had realized she had gone about this all wrong and really messed up her relationship with her son.

The next few days there was a bit of tension in the house. Michael didn't talk to Emma unless it was necessary, despite her many efforts to start a conversation. Of course, Emma had realized she had messed up and should have trusted him and simply talked it through with him, but instead she chose to not believe him and make him take a test, which came back negative for any drugs.

After (Y/n) spoke to both people, he had convinced Michael to hear his mother out and listen to her reasoning and explanation. He didn't have to forgive her, he just had to listen to why she did what she did. So, Michael and Emma were in her office, waiting for someone to speak up.

"I'm sorry." Emma apologized suddenly, making Michael look up at her. "I should've trusted you. I know you wouldn't do any of that stuff, but I was just worried. I didn't go about things the right way and should've just asked you about it instead." She spoke, feeling quite guilty. Michael nodded before saying anything. "You did kind of mess up. But I forgive you." He accepted her apology, and she quickly enveloped him in a big hug.

He hugged her back, but her hug was quite tight and he needed to breathe. Once he pulled out of her hug, she kissed his cheek and he sat back down.

"So.. now that my test is negative do I still have to be on house arrest? Everyone's going to the basketball game tonight and I was hoping you'd let me go?" He asked, hoping he could go out with his friends again, minus William. "It was not house arrest!" She defended thought giggles, making Michael laugh. "It was! I couldn't go anywhere besides school! That's house arrest." He explained, and she nodded.

"Fine, you can go. Just be safe and don't do any drugs, don't drink underage, and don't talk to strangers. Also be back by 10 and call me or your father if your running late." She advised. "Got it. Thanks mum. Love you!" Michael said before exiting the office, most likely going to change his clothes and go out to see his friends before the game. "Love you! Be safe!" She called, smiling at herself, glad she had made things right and fixed her relationship with her son.

(I just love to add tea and drama and spice things up a bit!)
