"I'm toast," Iris groaned as she planted her face onto her bed. After half an hour of traveling, she finally arrived at their military barracks. Good thing their headquarters weren't too far away from the training camp.
"You're late." Her eyes grew wide in shock, quickly turning around only to be surprised at seeing Levi. How long had he been sitting at the corner of the room?!
"You surprised me. For the love of God, stop appearing behind me all of a sudden." He uncrossed his arms and stood from his spot.
"So, what happened?" She let out another sigh and dropped her weight onto her mattress.
"The sabotage didn't work. Eren still passed the test-- and I feel like a horrible person." He sat on her bed and looked at her as if he sort of knew that would happen.
"Maybe you are."
"Shut up." She rolled over and dug her face into her pillow. If she said she was tired, it'd be an understatement. Exhaustion was all she felt throughout her body. The raven-haired man laid on his back and looked at the high ceiling.
"What's your plan?" Their eyes met when she turned to face him.
"Dunno. I'll visit once in a while. Our former commander said I could visit whenever I wanted to."
He frowned. "That's a pain in the ass." Levi turned to his side, his arm supporting the weight of his head while the other hovered over her hair. Their hearts pumped faster, they could feel their heartbeat increase with every second. He gently tucked her hair away as they looked at each other in the eyes. The times when Levi becomes affectionate were extremely rare-- no, maybe, he only shows it when the two are alone. He was known for being cold and rarely approachable. Whenever he's with her, all of those traits were tucked away reserved for others.
Iris sat up and dropped her head in defeat. "I'm going to sleep." She looked at him, blushing. "Go back to your room before Erwin finds out."
Levi rolled his eyes and raised a brow. "He doesn't give a shit."
"Levi... do you even sleep?"
"Only for two or three hours," he replied in a deadpan tone. Iris sighed and slid into the bathroom to get changed and ready for bed. She had seen a lot of shit from the expeditions, but even she could often get a good sleep at night. Come to think about it, Iris still knew nothing of his past at all. She recalled that Levi's mother had died and that was it. Oh well, Iris was willing to wait until he could finally open up.
"So... are you just going to hang around..." Her voice mellowed down as soon as Iris saw her boyfriend resting his eyes. He was lying on her bed with an arm over his eyes to block it from the light. With her hands on her hips, Iris smiled.
Might as well...
Iris carefully lied down and wrapped her arm around his waist. Her heart was pounding extra loud. Please be asleep, please be asleep. She could feel the butterflies in her stomach, it was performing a loop-de-loop and closing her eyes wasn't enough to settle them down.
"I'm not asleep."
"I know." She didn't know. In fact, she wished he was asleep so Levi wouldn't see how red she was. They gazed at each other, knowing damn well how things might turn out. Their heart beats faster and faster as their faces slowly approached one another. It was as if a magnet came in between them, pulling both of their desires together. Their lips touched and suddenly there came a spark. The kiss was magnetic, it was slow and gentle.
