I don't know how long it had been—but when I saw how the sun slowly rose from the left, I started to worry. It was already past dawn, the morning sun had finally awaken and we still haven't gotten to them yet.

"We should be a few minutes away now," said Hanji and I nodded at her. Staring at the destination ahead, I focused. This time there's no commander and Levi to give me orders. Can I do it, after all? I had already doubted myself the moment we left but—at least I have a little confidence in my skills.

My brows furrowed as soon as I saw the sight in front of me. Large pieces of stones were piled up everywhere, evaporating Titan flesh covered much of the ground and the tower was in shambles. I could only imagine what had occurred in this place.

I locked my eyes to the left and saw a 6-meter titan ahead. Left, right, centre—my eyes wandered to find the rest of those bastards running loose. The sun is out, they could be running rampant everywhere. I pointed my left arm in the same direction.

"Those of you to my left, let's take care of the remaining titans a few meters ahead!" I commanded the eight scouts behind me. My group and I separated from Hanji, knowing fully that she'll probably take care of the right side.

Hearts racing, I tightened my grip on my horse's lead and concentrated.

"Krista!" I turned around after hearing Mikasa's voice. Her eyes were glued upon her group of distraught friends. There was a titan right in front of them.

"Go save her! We'll take care of the Titans ahead."

Nodding, she replied, "Understood!" Mikasa then flew off toward the right where most of the remains of the tower was piled up. My group and I, on the other hand, continued to ride until we were at a good distance to form an attack. I prepared my gear, slowly taking my grip off the lead.

"Let's go!" Collectively, we hovered in the air, just above Mikasa and the others. She had finally saved her friends and now it was time to take care of the mess.

One by one, the group had no trouble killing the Titans. These monster's energy seemed to have been depleted. Two, three, four—the numbers kept increasing. After we had made rounds, Hanji's group and mine met at the centre to kill the rest of them. Huge bodies thumped heavily against the ground.

"That's all of them," I reported and everyone looked at each other, nodding once. Hanji and I sheathed our blades back at the same time.

My best friend looked at me. "Good job. That's our Iris!" I chuckled silently and rolled my eyes. Thanks for the morale boost Hanji but not even hundred compliments can take off my stress.

"I did the bare minimum. Let's go," I said. We stepped and walked across the sea of large rubbles. Then, all of a sudden, I saw a familiar blonde with a familiar brunette. Historia and Ymir.

We ran quickly toward them, our eyes widening at the image. Ymir's right leg and arm had been amputated, her stomach had a small gaping hole, red vines that looked like her veins on her neck were protruding, and her breath was slow and abnormal. I checked her pulse and felt a few pumps. This could only mean one thing.

          She's a Titan.

I didn't know this many secrets could keep unfolding in such a short amount of time. Nonetheless, I had already gotten used to it. All I had to worry about now was to keep Ymir safe.
