Iris and Levi maneuvered toward the commander. "She's stopped," Levi said. There was a certain look on his girlfriend's face while she stared hard at the Titan; it seemed as though she was in deep conflict within herself.
Erwin nodded, his eyes never leaving the enemy. "We can't drop our guard yet. Although thanks to you both, we managed to apprehend her."
"No. It was thanks to the sacrifices of our comrades that we were able to pull this off. They bought us time," replied Levi. Erwin set off another blast of wire slings to restrain it even more. Even after the first set, they still couldn't get used to its deafening sound. Iris's lips curved into a frown while her thoughts were simmering in her brain.
"Levi, Iris. Prepare to take off its wrists." A millisecond after his order was given, Iris didn't hesitate to unsheathe her swords. They both shot their grapple hooks toward the opposite trees and flew to their target. Using their momentum, Iris and Levi aimed forcefully at its hands.
Just like a crystal, the front of its hands hardened into blue ice-like material. They gritted their teeth after realizing their blade had no use against it. That was something they've never seen before. In fact, Iris had never really seen Eren's titan in person.
She stood on top of its head, pissed and impatient. "To think that this day would come. I thought you were a kind one. What do you think will happen when we capture you? After killing all those people, you've caused far too much trouble." The titan's eyes slowly grew wide: its pupils were shaking in fear.
Iris dug her sword into its scalp. "Too bad for you, though. I don't hesitate in killing traitors..." Her hands trembled. Which one of you is it? Krista? Annie? She was deeply conflicted; she remembered how high-level its physical ability was. Its moves only reminded her of one person. There's no doubt about it...
"Humans really are a big threat. Aren't they?" Iris angrily muttered before she clenched her fist. Her throat was itching, she wanted to cry. The betrayal hurt like a bitch. Even though she wasn't sure if it was actually Annie, Iris wanted to take this gamble. Damn if it's her, damn if it's not.
The titan's mouth and eyes opened at her words. Within seconds, it gritted its teeth and shrieked out loud. Her voice was ear-numbingly painful. Even the sounds of their explosives were less deafening! It continued to yell with multiple levels. It sounded like a pig getting eaten alive or an animal threatening to scare its predators. Her reaction confirmed all her suspicions, much to Iris's dismay. She covered shut her ears and eyes.
"IRIS!" Levi yelled, he was quick enough to grab her out of its way and drop her onto a tree. He glared at Iris for her reckless actions but was shocked to see her eyes tear up.
"Why are you..." His words were interrupted upon hearing a horde of titans coming their way. Erwin swiftly instructed his soldiers to defend the Female Titan after seeing a small one go after it. The two didn't even stop one second to follow the order. Everyone tried their best to fight all of them while they were too busy eating the Female Titan alive. Sweating, tired and exhausted, they all retreated after three minutes of futile attempts and once Erwin told them so.
Iris landed on the tree next to her commander while she had a hard time breathing. Huffing and puffing, she looked at Erwin for an order. "The hell's that look on your face?" Levi asked infuriatingly, he landed right next to the commander as well.
Erwin's eyes were cold and calculated, angered that there was an unfortunate turn of events. "I didn't expect that it'd resort to cannibalism..." he explained. Iris wiped her sweat off her face and looked at the titan. The blond commander turned his blue eyes toward his two best soldiers.
