Author's Notes

May 5, 2020 - May 5, 2021

Congratulations and thank you so much for making this far! I cannot express enough my gratitude to you for reading my story!

"Solace of Calluna" is my first ever completed story here on Wattpad! Hence, I am very thrilled and honored to share it with you all! It's been a tough, hectic, heart wrenching, and fun journey to write this one given that I will unfold the sensitive, intriguing stories of my beloved characters.

I was about 14 years old when I started writing scenarios about such serious issue, which is mental health, in my notepad.

Who would have thought that after 3 to 4 years from that, I could turn those random messages and imageries into a novel?

To my dearly sister, "Armalyn", I'm sorry for lying to you about this account and story of mine since I really wanted to keep all of these as my "little secret" up until the day that this would get at least one thousand reads. But see? I haven't even reached half of my goal! I guess you really have this great instinct and cleverness within you. So yeah congratulations?! I love you!

To Mi Vida, my first and main internet buddy slash ever supportive, warm-hearted best friend, and the first person that got to know about this story of mine, thank you so much for everything! I'm so grateful that I have you.

To Eri, my internet sissy, thank you for the genuine support and love that you've shown to me ever since I met you. You're so sweet, and that's one of the many things that I truly love about you.

And to you! Who's reading my story, thank you so much! You don't know how gleeful and thankful I am because of you.

And, I am not kidding when I say that I am literally crying at this moment as I write this "Author's Notes". I am truly happy, proud, and grateful to present to you my story!

I am very aware that I have lots of grammatical and typographical errors in my story. Not to mention some inappropriate scenes that may hurt other's feelings. I am truly sorry for that. I do not mean any harm in writing this one.

I am still learning, and very eager to do better as each day passes by. Thus, correcting my mistakes would be appreciated, especially of course if it's purely for the sense of amelioration and discipline. I would like to be more cautious and improved most particularly on things that I am not totally aware of. I hope that you could bear with me.

Back then, I was hesitant to continue writing this story because I was afraid that this might just trigger sensitive past or personal issues of the readers. I am terribly sorry if I ever triggered or offended you in any way possible. Please know that it is not my intention to cause harm to your emotional, mental, or even physical state. I appreciate you and I'm proud of how far you've become.

In all honesty, I am hoping that this will raise awareness about the importance of Mental Health, especially in our daily lives. As well as the significance of having a healthy environment in which it includes our family, friends, and school. Such external, and even internal factors, have crucial effects in our state of mind so I do hope that the messages I've wanted to impose in this story would reflect to each and every one of us.

I want to enlighten you to become more emphatic to others; To treat people with respect, the same way that you want to be treated.

Be kind, always. Ask your friend or a stranger if they're doing well, because who knows? Maybe a simple "Are you okay?" is all they need to become inspired again. Just a simple tap on someone's shoulders, random hug, or sincere smile is all we unknowingly need to continue living on.

Furthermore, I want to acknowledge your endless efforts in every silent battles that you've been, currently going through, and will encounter. Thank you for being courageous. I really admire you.

Your feelings are all valid. Don't let others make you feel otherwise. Do not be afraid to cry, be upset, or be anxious about something.

So, go on and be not okay sometimes. It's okay.

Those tears of yours will bring you to the path of overcoming your fears.

Please, don't give up. You matter. Always take care of yourself.

May the stars always shine, together with the moon, in your wondrous heaven even amidst your darkest times.

Beyond the moon and back,
caelumysta
