* 12 WEEKS LATER*
The day had finally arrived that I was to wed the love of my life in what was supposed to be an intimate ceremony, but now ended up being a ceremony with many more people than we expected. Once the majority of people knew about the engagement, which got around quickly, more and more people were somehow added to the guest list and eventually, we just decided that a small wedding was probably out of the picture with the raking up we had already gathered. That didn't matter anymore to us though, the main thing on both of our minds was each other and we had already planned time for us both together away from everything and everyone else.

*The Day Before The Wedding*
DEREK'S POV
Knowing that our wedding day was tomorrow and that this would be the last morning waking up together as a non-married man, I made the most of my fiancé who laid, peacefully and slept effortlessly beside me. She was snuggled up with the duvet to her chin and her lips were pursed together in a little pout as her nose made the softest snore. I leant over, with the August sun blaring through the gap between the curtains, and stroked her hair replacing the touch of my hand with my lips and making her unintentionally stir. She stretched slightly and then my heart palpitated as her big green eyes greeted me and made me fall more in love than I thought I could ever be, with her. She never made a failed attempt to show me how lucky I was and now it kicked in that I would never have to worry that I wouldn't wake up to this perfect human. Her voice was croaky, yet delicate as she groaned with another stretch and yawn.

'Hi.'

'Mmm,' she replied back, imprinting the image of her precious smile in my mind forever.

'You know what today is, don't you?'

'M-hhm.' Followed by a nod, she mumbled still waking up, but I could see from the sparkle in her eyes, she was more excited for today than I could ever imagine.

Meredith waited a few seconds and then said what was on her mind. 'I feel it this time. I think he's gonna be safe and healthy and I'm gonna carry full term.'

Today was the 12 week ultrasound and the day we found out if Meredith was healthy as well as the baby. The most nerve racking, emotional, joyous day so far and it just happened to fall the day before the wedding. Nobody knew about the baby yet. Not one single person. Not Cristina. Not Webber. Me, Meredith and the OBGYN. We had specifically asked at the earlier appointments not to hear or see the baby, just incase things weren't progressing enough and we could in fact miscarry again. It was not out of selfishness or any loss of love for this bundle but as a barrier for our hearts and our relationship. It was our secret that had kept us well occupied through the weeks, and thankfully scrubs hid the little bump Meredith had now grown and started to show.

'Him?' You think it's a boy?'

'The mother's instinct had already kicked in. I just feel like he's a him.'

'Either way, he or she, we will find out in a month or so.' Meredith brought herself closer to me, whilst grabbing my neck as a support almost and kissed my lips in an excited, intense and passionate way that made me feel some sort of way. I rolled my body on top of Meredith's legs making sure not to put my whole body weight on her petite frame, and hovered further up her. My lips found hers even quicker than before and even more intensely, I started what I knew I could finish. Her neck was a surface for my lips and my tongue. My nose smushed at the bottom of her neck and my lips kissed her chest and collarbone. All whilst, her head rolled around allowing more space for me to enjoy. Meredith's hands were running up my back, under my shirt and then they moved further down and her fingers tucked underneath the waist band of my boxers. I paused to admire her beauty and there she was, smiling in my eyes and melting my heart whilst doing so.

The alarm for us to get up, which I normally woke up before, interrupted our make out session but probably for the better because there was so much to do today and already enough excitement for one day.

'Don't worry, there'll be plenty more where that came from tomorrow. When you're my husband and i'm your wife.'

'From me too, dear.' I smirked at her in a cheeky way, knowing we were both feeling just as turned on right now as each other.

I finished getting ready, by that I mean finished applying the kilo of gel I put in my hair, and walked out of the bathroom into our bedroom where I found Meredith, lifting her shirt up and looking at her 'bump' in the mirror. She saw me in the background and quickly yanked her top over her stomach as soon as she noticed but I had already seen her admiring the pregnancy. She hadn't wanted to get too attached incase of another reoccurring event but I saw glimpses of her alone with the pregnancy where she was so content and besotted by the thought of our baby already.

'You don't need to hide your bump.'

'What?'

'I saw you in the mirror checking out your cute little stomach.' She just tilted her head and pulled a smirk, which made her dimples appear, as she figured I actually had seen her and there was no point hiding it. Her hands rested on her stomach as I began to walk towards her, where I stood behind her still looking in the mirror and put my hands on top of her shoulders.

'Let's settle this and see our healthy baby.'
