𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 (𝙅.𝙈.)

twenty six

JJ took me back to his house and laid me on his bed while he got a first aid kit out from under the bed. I slowly started to wake up. "JJ?" I asked, still in pain.

"Liz, what the hell happened?" He asked, dabbing a cotton ball into rubbing alcohol then putting it on one of the gashes on my face. I screamed in pain.

"I- Me and JB were running from DCS and I-I lost him then next thing I know I hit a post and went flying then you found me" I say. "Holy Shit" was all he replied with, still treating my wounds.

JJ got me all cleaned up then handed me one of his sweatshirts before leading me into his backyard. I took a seat in one of the lawn chairs and watched my boyfriend shoot at a teddy bear.

"Wanna try?" He asks, gesturing to the gun. I smile and nod. I walk up to him and he places the protective headset over my ears. He comes up behind me and puts his hands on mine so we both hold the gun.

"So you put this hand like this..." he moves my hand to the correct spot. "And this one like this" he adds, moving the other. "Then shoot" he whispers into one of my ears.

I pull the trigger and hit directly into the teddy bear's head. "Good job babe" JJ says with a smile as I walk back to the lawn chair I was sitting in before.

JJ shoots a few more shots before Pope shows up out  of nowhere. "JJ!" He yells, trying to be louder than the shots. JJ couldn't hear him as he was talking to himself.

"JJ!" He repeats two more times before the blonde finally looks at him. "They know" he adds. I knew exactly what he was talking about. "Shit!" I yell making Pope jump as he hadn't noticed me before.

I walk up to the two. "What?" JJ asks, pulling the headset off. "They know" Pope repeats. "Alright chill bro, they don't know shit" JJ replies. "Topper knows I sunk his boat" I say in worry. JJ puts his arm around me.

"How do you know they know?" JJ asks Pope. "Because topper and Rafe posted outside of heyward's and mad dogged me" Pope starts to pace. "JJ I'm gonna go to jail" I nuzzle into his shoulder.

"No you aren't babe" JJ replies. "Bro chill out your sending my girl into a panic attack. They don't know shit" He adds, practically yelling at Pope. "They could have caught her on the security cameras" Pope replies.

"There was no power" JJ says. "They're on figure eight, they got generators" Pope states. "Enough with the regret bro! They hurt my girlfriend, and they caved your face in. They hit us, we hit them. it's the law of the of the jungle" JJ replies.

"Now if any kooks come up to us and ask if we had anything to do with it, we walk up to them, look them right in the eye and..." JJ looks at me. "Deny the living shit out of them" I smile. JJ always knew how to make me smile even in the worst of times.

"That's right Liz, Deny, deny deny" JJ looks back at Pope. Pope hung out with us in JJ's backyard for a few more hours as we practiced shooting at the teddy bear, even Pope tried a few times.

Before we knew it, we all headed down to the movie that they were playing at one of the parks that night. We met Kie there as she had been helping her family at their restaurant that day.

"I'm so glad that they're still doing this" Kie says as we go to find a spot on the grass. "I am too" I say, walking in next to JJ. "Remember when we used to come here as kids Liz? It was so fun" JJ says with a laugh.

"I used to get all excited because I had a huge crush on you" he adds in a low voice so the rest of the group wouldn't hear. "If I'm going to be honest, me too" I giggle. "Aren't you guys glad that I made you come?" Kie asks.

I nod in agreement. "I'm only here because of Liz, otherwise my couch was pretty comfy just being honest" JJ mumbles. I nudge his arm. I go with Kie to grab some drinks for all of us.

"Hey, can I get 3 Pepsi's please?" Kie asks. Rafe approaches us. "Hey Kie how are you?" He asks, completely ignoring me. Kie rolls her eyes. "I'm fine" she replies.

"Good, and Elizabeth... we know what you did. I'm not going to cause a scene but you will get what's coming for you" he looks me in the eye. "I'm sorry what are you talking about?" Kie asks. I walk away. "Bye" Rafe says. "Doushe" I mumble loud enough for him to hear.

Kie follows me. I sat on JJ's lap without saying a word. "We just saw Rafe. He said quote on quote 'we know what you did' to your girlfriend JJ... care to explain what that's about?" Kie asks. Both boys shoot a look at me but I just look at the movie screen.

"Where is he?" JJ asks. "Right there" Kie replies. We all look back at the group standing in the back. Pope starts to stare. "Great the whole death squad" he says. "Stop staring bro" JJ says whacking him in the head. I always loved their friendship.

"Look, if we need it, we got protection" JJ adds, lifting up his bag. "I'm sorry please tell me that you did not bring a gun here JJ there are kids!" Kie says. "No Kie I didn't bring the gun everything's fine ok?" JJ says with a chuckle.

"Real convincing Buddy" I say patting his head. "Yeah JJ that's real convincing I love that" Kie says sarcastically. "Founding principle guys no secrets amongst pogues what is Rafe talking about?" Kie looks at me.

"Kie, it might go down tonight" Pope says to her. "What does that mean? 'It might go down tonight' Lizzie what did you do?" Kie asks. I look at JJ. "Deny, deny, deny" JJ mumbles.
