Thirty seven

"Still hate me?" John B asks Sarah with a smile. "A little... me and Kie are gonna get all of you back when you least expect it" Sarah says, pointing to me and the boys.

"Watch your backs" Kie adds. "Well I for one welcome that challenge" Pope replies. "Me too" JJ adds. "Me three" I say with a giggle.

"So did you guys... you know?" Pope asks. "Reconcile our differences?" Kie asks. They both shake their heads. "But we're willing to work together" Sarah says. Kie nods in agreement.

"You know what? That's a victory" Pope says. "Woogity woogity woogity" me and the boys all say. "Alright, now let's go get that gold" I say, hopping into the pogue and immediately going over to JJ. He snakes his arm around me and keeps it there for the whole ride back.

"We got everything?" I ask as we pull up to the old Crain house. "Check check check" JJ replies. "Alright, we're ready" John B says. All of us were wearing our darkest clothes, hoping to not get caught by the axe murderer.

"Let's go get rich guys" JJ says, opening the door for me. "Hell yeah" I reply with a chuckle. Before I could step out, John B stops me. ""Wait wait wait... I wanna thank you guys seriously, it means a lot to me that you're here tonight. It would mean a lot to dad to see you here as well, Liz. He always wanted to teach you about the wreck even though you were never around to hear it" John B looks at me and chuckles.

I smile at him. It meant a lot to him and I knew it. If I'm going to be honest, if we didn't get the gold in the end, it would still be worth it because we gave it our best. "Of course John B" I say, pulling him into a hug.

"Always" Kie says with a smile. "Alright are we done now? Can we go do this?" JJ asks, being the impatient one of the group. He always hated the sappy stuff.

I was the first out, followed by the rest of the group. "Let's go get that wheat in the water" Pope says. "Weed?" I ask. "I'm up for weed" JJ adds. "I said wheat" Pope replies looking very impressed with us.

I was the first to climb over the wall, followed by Kie then Sarah then the boys. We made our way through the old woman's yard for the second time. The statues were much more creepy in the dark, I swear.

Suddenly one of the motion censored lights came on. Kie gasps. "Shit!" We all mumble as we run to hide in the bushes. "Flashlights!" Kie says. I ended up right next to my boyfriend of course. I don't know if we could have possibly got any closer. We both quickly turned off each other's flashlights.

"You know we should be this close more often" JJ says, making eye contact with me with a smirk. "Well I don't know if you'd be able to handle it, J" I say, bringing my face a little closer to his.

"Would you two quit flirting for like two seconds?" Pope asks. Me and JJ hadn't even noticed the whole group staring at us. "We have a serious problem right now, you guys really need to pay attention" John B looks between the two of us. When don't we have a serious problem?

"Ok, so, she has motion censored lights" Pope says, focusing on our current problem. "No shit sherlock" I reply. "We could uh move really slowly maybe?" JJ asks. I look at him in confusion. I'm really dating this boy?

"Yeah that's not how it works" Pope looks at JJ. "Oh shit! Let's throw a rock at it" John B suggests. "You guys are literal idiots" I say. JJ kisses my cheek. "Yeah, well you're dating one of the idiots" He says. I roll my eyes and giggle. "That's a really good idea actually, let the axe murderer know we're here" Kie says, referring to John B.

"Throw a rock at it? Come on" Pope adds. "Ok well do you guys have a better idea?" John B asks. "Literally anything but that" Kie replies. "What about the breaker?" I ask. "Do we even know where it is?" Kie asks.

"It's in the circuit box on the porch. We used to play hide and seek here as kids, and if we were brave enough we'd go all the way up to the porch. I've seen it" Sarah says. "No no you're not going in the house alone" John B says. "Fine then I'll go" I say.

"Nope no way Crain chops people into pieces. It'll be a cold day in hell when I let my girlfriend go into an axe murderer's house" JJ says. "Yeah no I'm not letting you go in there" John B adds, looking at me. "I'll go, watch me" Sarah says."besides, she's like what? 85? She's probably barely still kicking" I add. "I'll go with Sarah" Kie says. They both look at each other. "Yeah" She says.

"Ok we'll wait for your signal" Pope states. The two girls get up to leave. John B stops them. "Hey, be safe" he says. "We will" Sarah replies, starting to make her way towards the house.

I was looking at John B, but JJ places his hand on my cheek and turns my head so I'm looking him in the eye. "Be safe" he says, mocking John B. "Oh JJ, I'll be so safe. I'll be safe for you" I reply in the most sarcastic tone ever. "Will you guys stop?" John B asks. "Stop" he whispers.

We both turn to face my brother, who was holding a wrench. "I'm gonna kill you" he says. "But how would that keep us safe?" I ask. JJ smiles and pulls me into him as we wait for the girls' signal.

Quick question do y'all ship Jiara or Kie and Pope? Cause personally I'm more of a Jiara person, but I know if it happens it won't happen for a while.
