𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 (𝙅.𝙈.)

"You could have warned us a little sooner" JJ told the group. I nodded at Kie in Pope agreeing with him. "We would have except Pope was on the math team" Kie says rolling her eyes at Pope. "The cops took everything like it was a crime scene" Pope stated ignoring her comment.

"Did you guys find anything?" Pope asked, adding to his comment. "Did we find anything?" JJ said sarcastically as me and him pulled out the stacks of money we managed to grab before escaping the motel room. He grabbed the gun too, even though I told him not too.

"Nope" I said with a smile holding a stack of money in each hand. "John b! You let them take stuff from a fricken dirty ass motel room?!" Kie said in shock looking at him. She knows that John B has always been a great influence on me. He shrugged and looked away.

"What the hell! Why would take that from a crime scene?!" Pope asked as he looked at both of us. "It's better than the cops having it bro!" JJ replied. "Besides you should expect this from us by now" I added. JJ nodded at my comment.

"I expect this from JJ but you Lizzie? Im gonna loose my merit scholarship" Pope said, starting to panic. JJ walked over to him and put the gun to his lips. "Shshshshsh... at least you have us right?" JJ said linking his arm around me as I had moved to stand next to him.

"I'm living the nightmare" Pope walked to the back of the boat. "And I'm living the dream" I said fanning myself with one of the stacks of money , a smile on my face. "So am I" JJ whispered in my ear before kissing my cheek and walking away.

I stood there in shock. John B started laughing. "You should see the look on your face" He said pointing at me. I glared at him and he went silent. I then moved to the front of the boat and sat in my usual spot next to JJ until we got to the docks.

When we arrived, we saw the emergency services wheeling a body away from one of the boats. We all snuck over to the spot where everyone else was standing, eager to find out who it was.

We then saw a lady run over the the body. "Who's that?" Kie asked one of the locals who was standing near us. "It's Scooter Grubbs... Check out this pic I got" she replied with a chuckle. We all leaned over and looked at the girls phone.

"Holy shit" I heard my brother say. "What kind of boat did he have?" Me and JJ both asked at the same time. "Somehow that dirtbag coughed a brand new Grady white... everyone's out looking for it" she states, causing me, JJ, and John B to shoot a worried glare at each other.

Soon we arrived back at the chateau. We were all chilling on the screened-in porch until Pope burst in. "We didn't see anything, we don't know anything, we need to have total and complete amnesia" He says before sitting on the couch next to Kie. I was sitting on the arm of the chair that JJ was sitting in.

"Pope's right for once" JJ says then taps me on the back twice wanting me to stand up. I stood and he soon followed me then put his arm around me, guiding me to walk with him as we walked toward the edge of the screened in porch. "See I agree with you sometimes, deny deny deny" he adds.

"Guys we can't keep that money" Kie states. "Not all of us can afford unlimited data plans, Kiara" JJ replies, keeping his arm around me. "I agree with J on this one" I shrugged and crossed my arms. JJ looked at me with a smile, because of the nickname. And that's when I started calling him J.

"We have to pass that money off to Lana Grubbs otherwise it's bad karma" Kie ignores both of mine and JJ's statements. Honestly, I would have too. "We gotta go dark" Pope adds siding with Kie.

"If that means we get to keep the money, than me and Liz here agree" JJ says. "I don't agree" John B finally enters the conversation. "Why?" I asked with a very confused look on my face. I thought out of all people, he would definitely want to keep it. Especially after all the shit we've been through this past year.

"Just think about it, this is Scooter Grubbs we're talking about. He's the one who's always buying individual cigarettes at the porthole. Shit, one time I saw this dude begging for change in a Save-a-lot parking lot because he needed gas. We're talking about a dirtbag marina rat who's never had more than forty bucks in his pocket and suddenly he's got a Grady white? Just saying" he puts his hands up in defense.

"Wow John B I never knew you actually acknowledged what was going on in the world around you" I said as I left JJ's arms to look JB right in the face. "And I never knew you actually listened to a word I say" John B fired back. I left with a laugh and walked down the dock soon to be followed by the rest of the pogues.

"Alright so think about it Pope... how does a marina rat get a Grady white?" John B asked. "Prostitution?" He replied. Sometimes with Pope you could never really tell if he was being sarcastic or not. "Square groupers bro... ok flying under the radar, aerial surveillance, they don't do that stuff during a hurricane" John B states.

"What does that mean... Liz?" He adds pointing a finger at me. "They were smuggling" I reply not even looking at him. Somehow I could feel JJ smiling at me, not in a weird way though. The thought made me grin. "They were smuggling... and I guarantee that there is a serious amount of contraband in that wreck" John B says.

Soon we were back inside the chateau. We were hanging out in the spare bedroom this time, with JJ and John B both sitting on wind sills, Kie in a chair, and both me and Pope sitting on the bed. "Taking this money would be stupid" Pope States waving one of the stacks around.

"Right... well stupid ideas have good outcomes all the time" JJ replies as he takes the money from Pope. "Look guys, right now we just need to lay low and act normal" I pitch into the conversation. "And how exactly do we do that Miss Lizzie?" Pope asks.

"Keggar?" I ask and shrug. Of course JJ agrees with me immediately, but the rest give me a weird looks before saying yes. As JJ knows, I'm quite a party girl.

Also, I just went through, read, and edited all the chapters of this book so it makes more sense!
