Chapter 18: Elizabeth's Busy day

One morning, the engines were waking up, and they were surprised to see Elizabeth walking in. "Good morning everyone," she said. "Where's (Y/N)?" asked Spencer. "I don't know, she must've been held up somewhere," said Elizabeth, "meanwhile, I will be running the railway for her." "Do you have experience running a railway?" asked Henry. "No. But how hard can it be. Now, Thomas, there is a special train at the docks, and it needs to be taken to Sir Topham Hat Station." "Yes ma'am," said Thomas. "Lady, do you think you can handle the passenger trains until he gets back?" "Yes ma'am," said Lady.

Elizabeth soon had the engines at work. But some were very odd jobs. Emily was asked to pull a giant ballon that was to go to the new air field. Gordon was taking a cake to Brenton Goods Station. Mallard was pulling a train of farm animals. Flying Scotsman was taking a truck full of hats to Homestead station. And poor Edman was left with the express!! He was very confident he could pull it. But soon, he ran out of fuel in the middle of the main line. All around the island, the engines were having trouble with their jobs, and were starting to block each other at the Homestead Station! "THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!" said Dick, "No one knows what Elizabeth Awdry is going to ask what job to do next!" "OUT OF MY WAY!!" yelled Emily. "I need to get through!" said Percy. "I have a special train here!!" said Flying Scotsman. "You!?!" asked Spencer, "You're pulling only one truck!" "Well yours are empty!" Soon, Edward backed up to the station, and saw Elizabeth helping with some decorating the station. "Miss Elizabeth?" asked Edward. "Ah, Edward, good to see you. Is something wrong?" "Confusion and Delay," said Edward, "All the engines are not doing the jobs that they are supposed to be doing." Oltan Hall then pulled up and said, "Yes, certain engines are made for certain jobs." Elizabeth then sighed, "I guess running a railway is harder than I thought." Oltan Hall then smiled, "Don't worry, we'll help you out!"

So, Dick was sent to get the express, and Edman was shunted to be brought back to the yard. Mallard, Emily and James were sent to get the local. Henry was then sent to get the heavy goods train. Thomas hurried along with Annie and Clarabel. Percy carried the mail. And Flying Scotsman pulled the Non-Stop Express. Soon, everyone was sent back to the jobs that they were meant to do. Thomas pulled into the station, and he saw a flap of paper tied to the station. Elizabeth then came out, and asked, "Thomas, why are you here?" "I saw that paper there," said Thomas. Elizabeth looked at it, and opened it up. It read, I have (Y/N). Bring me the Sudrian engines in exchange for her. Meet me on Sodor. Signed, Anonymous. Elizabeth stared and gasped. Thomas was shocked. "SOMEONE HAS KIDNAPPED (Y/N)!!" he exclaimed. Elizabeth quickly got out her cell phone, and called 911.

On Sodor....

(Y/N) was waking up to a pounding head ache. She groaned, and she looked to see herself in an office. The Fat Controller's Office. She tried to get up, but saw her hands tied behind her back, along with her torso and legs. She was also tape gagged. She struggled. She then saw the door handle move, and the door opened, to reveil, the Controller of Sodor. (Y/N) was livid! "MMMM MMPH MMMM MMM!!!!" she screamed. "Hello, (Y/N)," said the controller. "I see you might know me. I made this island up to date, and the money is just as great as it was when steam was, even mo....." He stopped. He looked at the charts, and saw the currency was much, much lower than what the Fat Controller made. "How?" asked the controller, "Well, looks like I need to transport you." He then cut the rope holding (Y/N) to the chair, picked her up, and put her in a sack. "Now, shut up, or you will regret it." He walked out of the office, and he headed to his car. He put (Y/N) in the trunk, and set off. Unknown to him, a diesel saw him. D261. He decided to follow him home.
