The next day, Thomas was there to greet the engines. Mainly D261. When the diesels rolled in, Thomas said, "Hello Bo, I mean D261." "Please," said D261, "call me Bowler. The name's actually kind of grown on me. Besides, I never really got a real name." "Oh," said Thomas, "And how is Spam-can?" Spam-can just growled, "SHUT UP!!!" "Now now," said (Y/N) on the platform, "that's enough. Now, Bowler, I need you to take the Non-Stop Express today for James. Oltan Hall should be waiting at Beach View when you arrive there. And 199, I have a slow goods for you to take." "Yes ma'am," said the two diesels.

Bowler took the Non-Stop Express along the line with pride. He honked kindly at the engines he passed. Spam-can was not as cheerful. He glared at all the engines as he rolled with his goods. He only greeted other diesels. When he saw Dick, he said, "Ah, that's more like it, another diesel pulling passengers." "And you must be Spam Can," said Dick. Spam Can was furious! "Okay, 1. Narrator, stop calling me Spam Can, and 2. Why have you called me that!?!" "I know your type," said Dick, "Diesel 10 has told me of what you did, and what you said. Henry also told me that you didn't care for your train, and you wailed for a fitter. THAT is not the way to fun a railway! If you're broken down, you must try to get to the next station at least, and not complain! Otherwise, you're bound for the scrap heap!" Before Spam Can could reply, Dick rolled away. "He thinks he's so good! I'll show him. AND I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO STOP CALLING ME SPAM CAN!!" Not with that attitude I'll listen. Spam Can growled. "Great!" He then rattled away.

Soon, Bowler was talking with Oltan Hall before he was due to leave. Spam Can rolled in, and said, "What do you think you're doing?!" "I'm making friends!" said Bowler. "With outdated steam kettles!?!" "At least I tried to get my train!" said Bowler, "You just sat at a junction and let Henry pull you along the line!" The two engines argued, until a horn was heard.

"That's enough!" said Diesel 10 to Spam Can, "We work together now, and we don't bully each other! Now, you get to work, or I'll let Pinchy have a second go at ya!" Spam Can then raced off to the yard to get turned around.

The engines have soon warmed up to Bowler, but Spam Can was still his old self. He often showed off, and tried to get to pull the express like Bowler does, but he didn't impress (Y/N) at all. He then decided to play a trick on the shunter. Lady was pushing Pullman coaches to the platform, when Spam Can backed down, and he took the train. He waited for the train to get loaded, while Lady shunted his trucks to what she thought was Spam Can, but was really the break coach! The Guard blew his whistle, and he then headed off.

Mallard then arrived, to see Lady sulking. "Lady, what's wrong?" "That Spam Can played a trick on me!" she said, "He took the coaches as soon as I put them on the platform, and he then took the goods train I shunted for him!" Mallard was cross. "That snake!" Mallard then headed to the platform, and waited for a train to be given to him. (Y/N) came out, and she said, "I have a local for you to take. You should catch up to Spam Can at some point." Stafford the electric engine came and he gave Mallard the coaches. He then pulled out of the station.

Mallard then headed off, and he saw Spam Can racing down the line at a much slower pace than usual. Mallard saw Spam Can was rough on the coaches, and bumping the passengers around. "Soon, he'll be in trouble with (Y/N)," said Mallard.

Spam Can then pulled into the station with the express, and said, "That will impress (Y/N)! Now she'll scrap the steam engines and get modern diesels like me!" But to his surprise, (Y/N) looked very cross. "Spam Can!" said (Y/N), "I gave you the goods work, because you seem to have no experience with passengers! And it seems it was true! I've had nothing but complaints about you! You made good time, but you were reckless on the main line! I will put you on the waste train for the rest of the time you are here! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!?!" "Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Yes ma'am," said Spam Can.

Spam Can pulled the waste trains, and cleaned up scrap with Diesel 10, Splatter and Dodge. Diesel 10 was sure to put him in his place if he ever mis-behaved. Bowler was very helpful to the railway, and even made up with Stepney. Soon, the two diesels left, and Spam Can was once more sent away in disgrace. Stepney was happy to help out. Soon, he also left. The engines were sad to see him go, and Mallard and Flying Scotsman even visited him once, but that's another story.
