Arthur the big red tank engine loves the sea side. He often works at the big station at Beach View. He also once had a spotless record, but it was ruined on Sodor. He worked hard to bring it back, but he often had trouble with the trucks. He soon handled them well.
One day, (Y/N) came to the harbor in which Arthur makes deliveries to. "Arthur," she said, "There is a special train at the docks. You must bring it to the harbor immediately." "Yes ma'am," said Arthur.
Arthur raced down the mainline, and he was very happy to go to the docks. He always like going there. Salty, Porter and Edman were all shunting when Arthur came. "I'm here to take the special train to the port." "Be with you in a minute matey," said Salty, "We actually have a bit of trouble." The trucks were being very troublesome for Porter and Edman. Salty had to take the work load off their buffers, but it was too much for him. Arthur then said, "Maybe I can help." He then went to work shunting the trucks.
The trucks tried to play their tricks, but Arthur just ignored them. He soon was able to get them to behave well. "Nice work Arthur," said Salty, "You earned your spotless record! Sorry it was ruined." Arthur then had a sad frown on his face. He was still a bit touchy about the day his spotless record was ruined. On that day, Arthur was taking fruit to market, and the trucks sang songs, but he tried to stop them. The trucks soon payed him out, and he crashed into the back of Duck's train, ruining his record. Arthur then puffed away, with much to think about.
Arthur chuffed sadly through the country side, whistling to the other engines. Arthur wished he hadn't ordered the trucks about. Soon, he saw Diesel 10 and Boco. The class 40 and Metropolitan diesels noticed the large tank engine was sad. "What's the matter?" asked Diesel 10. Arthur then told them about his spotless record. Boco then said, "That was ages ago, you must not think about past failures, they can just bring you down." "But what should I think about?" asked Arthur. Diesel 10 smiled, "Think of all the ways you were really useful to obtain that record." Arthur took this to heart, and smiled.
For the rest of the trip, Arthur was smiling the whole way. When he arrived, he was bang on time. (Y/N) was impressed. "Well done Arthur!" she said, "You know, today marks the peak of your spotless record. And today, you've also broken it!" Arthur was shocked. "I broke my own record without knowing!?!" "Yes you did," said (Y/N), "And I'm proud of you."
Arthur soon chuffs around the island, knowing he has a new spotless record, and is proud of it.
