There are many cranes on Paradise Island. Big Cranes that stay in the same location, like Merrick, who works at the Quarry.
And Cranky and Big Mickey at Connection Docks.
There are also cranes like Rocky, Judy and Jerome who can be shunted at any place where there is work to be done.
There are also portable cranes that can go anywhere they are needed, like Kelly and Lofty from the Pack and the Can Do Crew. And Kevin who works at the repair factory.
But there is one crane who can go anywhere he is needed on the railway, and that is Harvey. He is a tank engine, that has a crane arm attached to his boiler. When there is heavy cargo needed to be lifted, Harvey is there to help.
One day, Harvey was delivering construction supplies to a sight where the Can Do Crew were building a new station. Harvey rolled in, and the machines were amazed. "WOW!" said Muck, "Look at that engine!" "He has a crane arm, like Lofty!" said Dizzy, "Brilliant!" "Hello," said Betty, "You must be Harvey. I'm Betty the Builder." "I've heard much about you ma'am," said Harvey, "All good things." "Please, call me Betty. And thank you. So, do you think you can help Lofty unload and lift needed supplies?" "Of course," said Harvey. "Alright team, let's get to work!" said Scoop, "CAN WE BUILD IT?" "YES WE CAN!" cried Muck, Dizzy and Roley. "Um, yeah, I think so," said Lofty. "Oh, I like your catch phrase," said Harvey. "Thanks," said Scoop.
Harvey and Lofty unloaded all the supplies, and Dizzy started mixing, while Muck and Scoop started digging. Roley flattened the dirt out. Then Harvey and Lofty helped put in the support beams that would hold the concrete. Betty and the workmen all helped smooth the concrete out, and give some extra to the edges to make ramps. Scoop was then fitted with a jack-hammer on his rear arm, and drilled some holes for the support beams of the station.
Harvey watched happily as the work was being done. "So, Harvey," said Dizzy, "I gotta, you are a very unique engine!" "Oh thank you Dizzy," said Harvey. "So, why did you have your crane arm attached?" "Well, I was just built that way. It's to help load and unload things, and help engines, trucks and coaches who have derailed back on the tracks."
Lofty was helping with a heavy roof top. It swayed in the wind. "Oh, Oh dear, Oh, Oh OH!!" Lofty cried, but he couldn't stop himself from turning. Soon, the wind forced him to fall over, right into the drying concrete! "OH NO!!!" cried Betty. Lofty was in a jam. The concrete hadn't dried up yet, but it would soon. Harvey raced to Lofty, and said, "Hold on Lofty, I've got you!" Harvey's hook was put on Lofty's side, and he pulled with all his might! Lofty was heavy, and Harvey's wheels slipped on the rails. Harvey heaved, and hoed, and he lifted Lofty out of the concrete! "WELL DONE HARVEY!!" said Betty. "Thank you Betty," said Harvey, "but what about the station?" "Oh right," said Betty, "We need more cement. Muck, can you go back to the yard, and get some more?" "On it Betty," said Muck. "Now, Harvey, I need you to help Lofty with the roof." "Will do!" "CAN WE FIX IT?" cried Scoop. "YES WE CAN!" replied everyone else. "Um, yeah I think so," said Lofty.
Muck returned, and everyone worked as hard as they could to get the new station done. Just before the sun set, the station was completed. "Now, we just need to let the concrete dry up, and the station will be opened," said Betty. "Well done everyone," said (Y/N), driving up to the station, "I see you have all done a good job building the new station in time. So, in honor of Harvey's brave work, the new station shall be named Harvey's Station." Harvey's smile beamed with glory.
