It was a cool crisp autumn day on Paradise Island. (Y/N) walked into the sheds with another woman. She had black hair, green eyes, a blue dress that went to her knees, and white high heels. "Good morning ma'am," said Thomas, "Who is this?" "This is Elizabeth, my wife," said (Y/N). The engines looked confused. "I thought you had a husband," said Percy. "Not all people that are married have a partner of the opposite sex," explained (Y/N), "Many people call couples of the same sex a gay couple. Basically, they are both attracted to the same sex." "But how do you have children?" asked Percy. Gordon then said, "It is very rude to ask women how they have babies!!" "It's okay Gordon," said (Y/N), "We all have a lot to learn." "But why is she here?" asked Dick. "I need an engine to pull a special train for the anniversary of our wedding," said (Y/N). "I'll do it!" said Thomas eagerly. "They need a big strong engine to do it!" said Gordon. "No, they must ride a modern class diesel engine!" said Dick. "Now now," said (Y/N), "You all can't pull it. But since Thomas asked first, he can pull it, only if you get your other jobs done first." "Yes, ma'am," said Thomas. "I'll see you tonight," said Elizabeth, kissing (Y/N) on the lips.
That day, Thomas talked with Lady about Elizabeth. "It's more common than you think," said Lady, "Many people are gay, and they're all around the world." "How come the Fat Controller never told us about this?" asked Thomas. "There must've been no real reason to," replied Lady, as she puffed away with her goods.
The whole day, Thomas couldn't stop thinking about couples. I do have a crush, he thought to himself, but I'm afraid she'll just laugh at me. Thomas then talked to Annie and Clarabel about his feelings. "Then tell her," said Annie. "Yes, I'm sure she feel the same way about you," said Clarabel. Thomas smiled, "Thank you, I know I can always count on you two."
That night, Thomas puffed into the station, to see (Y/N) and Elizabeth in beautiful sparkling dresses. "You both look beautiful," said Thomas. "Thank you," said (Y/N), and she and Elizabeth climbed on board. Just then, Lady came up with a small passenger train. Thomas took a breath. "Lady," he said, "can I talk with you for a minute?" "Yes Thomas," said Lady. "Ever since I met you on the Magic Railroad, I've had some special feelings for you. I want to spend all the time in the world with you, my special friend." Lady smiled, "Oh Thomas, I was waiting for you to say that!" She then blew her whistle, and she and Thomas puffed off.
That night, (Y/N) and Elizabeth got serious in the sleeping coach. As for Thomas and Lady, they became the railway's first engine couple. They announced it to the other engines the next morning. All the engines were proud of them, even Gordon, Spencer, Mallard and Flying Scotsman. So now a days, you'll find Thomas and Lady, double heading any train they can pull together. They were happy, but like all things in life, all good things don't last long. But I will spoil the next story if I tell you.
(Yes, I made the reader a lesbian. I thought long and hard on weather or not to do it. I thought it might be good for younger children to get to know about gay couples. So yeah, I just thought of that.)
