Chapter 71: Inspector

James was on the express today, and he over heard a conversation in (Y/N)'s office. "FOR THE LAST TIME: I WILL NOT MERGE WITH BRITISH RAILWAYS, OR WITHDRAW ANY OF MY ENGINES!!! SO STOP ASKING!!!!" (Y/N) then stormed out of her office, and took a deep breath. "What happened (Y/N)?" asked James. "It was British Railways on the mainland," said (Y/N), "for the past three months, they've been pestering me into merging with them, and modernizing the Paradise Railway!" "You would never do that, would you?" "No, of course not. I would never do that. Although, it does bring some worry. With these type of situations, I have been kidnapped twice." James remembered what happened.

When he arrived at the Junction, he told Lady about what he heard. "She would never merge with British Railways!" said Lady, "(Y/N) is very loyal to us, and to your fat controller." The guard blew his whistle, and Lady puffed off with her goods.

The next morning, the engines were greeted to (Y/N) and another woman in a formal dress. "Who is that?" asked Percy. "I think she's an inspector," said Toby. The woman eyed the engines with suspicion. She looked at the big engines, and put some notes down. She then looked at Thomas, Percy, and Lady. She did the same to the other engines, and when she finished, the inspector said, "Well, some of these engines, are very antique and should immediately be with drawn! For example, that tram engine, is made of wood, and very old! He shouldn't be aloud on public railways!" This was met with angry whistles from Thomas, Percy, and Lady. "Toby is a really useful steam tram!" said Thomas. "He maybe old, but he has more experience than the rest of us all combined!" said Percy. "Toby helps us all out! He can't be withdrawn!" said Lady. "QUIET YOU HEAP OF SCRAP!" said the inspector. (Y/N) then clenched her fists. "Secondly, that Class 40 Diesel, he is a danger with that claw. It must be removed." Now it was Diesel, Diesel 10, Den, Dick, and Edman's turn to be angry. "Diesel 10's claw is very useful helping clear the line!" said Diesel. "Indeed!" said Dick, "He helps load some things on trucks, and he helps keep bullies in line!" "SILENCE YOU KETTLES!!" said the inspector rudely. (Y/N) then gritted her teeth. "Now, as for the big engines, I suggest high speed diesels, and donating these engines to museums or scrapping them." The big engines were furious! "DISGRACEFUL!!" said Gordon. "DISGUSTING!!" put in James. "DESPICABLE!!" spluttered Henry. "Have us donated to a museum?!?" shouted Mallard, "I just got out and back on the mainline, and now you want me BACK as museum piece!?!?" "HUSH!! ONE MORE WORD OUT OF YOU ALL, AND I'LL SEE TO THE SCRAP HEAP!!" yelled the inspector. (Y/N) had much furry built with in her. "Now, as for some of these tank engines here," said the inspector, pointing to Thomas, "I'd say they've had enough time in the world now. They should be withdrawn, and have a newer engine replace them." (Y/N) had enough, she couldn't restrain herself anymore. So, she let out a loud scream, and she punched the inspector right in the face, breaking her nose, and falling to the ground. The engines were shocked!

"HOW MANY TIMES MUST I SAY IT TO GET IT THROUGH THESE PEOPLE'S HEADS!?!?" yelled (Y/N), "THESE ENGINES ARE PRESERVED, AND WORK ON MY RAILWAY!!! NO ONE WILL BE WITHDRAWN, DONATED, OR SCRAPPED WHILE I'M HERE!!!! TELL BRITISH RAILWAYS TO...." The next scene can not be repeated due to the younger audience. "...AND I WILL NEVER, EVER JOIN THEM AND THEIR STUPID MODERNIZATION PLAN!!!! I WILL NOT HAVE INSPECTORS SPEAK TO MY ENGINES THE WAY YOU DID!!!! NOW GET OFF MY RAILWAY!!!" The inspector was shocked, and she ran away in fear. (Y/N) sighed, and said, "I'm sorry everyone. I was just so angered, that I couldn't hold it in anymore. I.... I need to relax a bit." She then called Elizabeth to help restrain her again.

After the inspector left, the engines worked hard. (Y/N) was sued for assaulting a member of the British Railways board, but British Railways was also sued for trying to force (Y/N) to join them, after making steam the main form of traction on the railway, and trying to get her to join the modernization plan. After that, it damaged British Railways' reputation, and they stopped pestering (Y/N) after that.
