The fall season had come to Paradise Island, and it was very busy for the harvest. The engines worked so hard, that their axles ached. Soon, the engines were exhausted form working so hard. (Y/N) then came into the sheds, and said, "To help with the work load, another engine will come to the island to help. Unfortunately, Alfred was the only engine available." The engines were not happy to hear Alfred was returning to the island.

When he did, everyone eyed him very suspiciously. "I don't know what (Y/N) was thinking, bringing you back!" said Flying Scotsman. "It wasn't my choice!" said Alfred, "if anything, I would've stayed back home!" "Well," said Henry, "You won't be pulling passengers this time. We need help with the freight work!" Alfred just rolled his eyes and said, "I know that! I don't even pull passengers anymore!! Not that it will matter, I'll not talk to anyone, and keep to myself!"

True to his word, Alfred was quiet the whole time he was there. He didn't talk, he didn't acknowledge others unless he his trains were being added. He didn't even whistle back to the engines. Soon, he was the quietest engine on the whole railway.

(Y/N) was impressed with how hard Alfred worked. "I'm impressed Alfred," said (Y/N), "you're attitude has improved very well. Keep this up, and we might think about letting you pull passengers again." Alfred wasn't sure about this. He had pulled trucks for so long, he didn't know if he knew how to pull passengers again.

Alfred kept working hard, even though the other engines kept shunning him. He didn't mind. The other engines on his railway also shunned him. Soon, he backed down on a goods train, when the station master came up. "Leave these trucks here. Emily has broken down, you must go and rescue her. Her passengers will miss their boat at the docks." "Yes sir!" said Alfred, and he raced off.

Emily stood on the line, when he heard a whistle.

Alfred pulled up to her, and he switched lines. He backed down gently, and he then said, "I'm sorry." Emily was confused. "I'm sorry I was so rude to you all. I was too full of myself. I was the pride of the line, until the rail tour. I wasn't always like that. I was once a kind and caring engine. But the importance of the express got to my smoke box. I'm sorry for calling you all unreliable." Emily smiled, "It's alright Alfred. Not many engines are brave enough to convince themselves they were in the wrong." Alfred smiled, and he headed off to the docks.

At the docks, Alfred then arrived just in time. He was proud, and felt pride. "It really does feel nice to help other engines," he said. "I'm glad you do," said Alfred's controller, as he climbed down from Emily's train. "SIR!" said Alfred, "What are you doing here?" "I'm here to keep an eye on you. But it seems I was wrong. You have changed impressively. Just please, don't let your ego get so big again." "I won't let you down sir," said Alfred.

For the rest of the time Alfred worked hard, and he did mixed-traffic jobs. He didn't mind it. He actually likes the variety of trains. Soon, (Y/N) asked Alfred to come to the works, where she, Victor and Kevin were waiting for him. "What is going on?" asked Alfred. "Alfred," said (Y/N), "You have worked hard, and have been kind enough to help another engine in need. As a reward, I've talked with your controller, and you will have a new coat of paint. And it will be your original green, and a new logo on your tender." Alfred was pleased. "OH, THANK YOU MA'AM!!"

Alfred was happy to be a green engine again. But instead of LNER on his tender, there was a crest on his it that said, 'British Railways' on it.

Alfred was sad to go, but he promised to be the best engine he could. Back home, Alfred once more pulled the express, but he also takes goods at times. He doesn't mind sharing the express. He also does all that he can to help other engines. He even pulled another rail tour, but he was careful to not let his ego get in the way.
