The next rail tour had arrived on Paradise Island. Everyone was excited. Soon, the boat arrived, and Cranky unloaded the engine. He was a tender engine, was painted green, and had a large, single driving wheel, like Emily. But unlike Emily, his cylinders were inside, like Thomas and James.
"Is he related to Emily?" asked Gordon. "No," said Duck, "He's Great Western, just like me, Oliver and Oltan Hall."
Soon, he was talking before he took off with this train. "I am Achilles," said the engine. "It's very nice to meet you," said Emily. Achilles smiled, "I never seen another single other than my brothers and sisters." "Well," said Gordon, "maybe because they all pulled freight." Achilles then said, "We actually pulled passengers. We never touched those dirty things! Unlike you blue boy." Gordon was shocked. "Not with your clanking rods, and extra drive wheels. All that friction it makes just slows you down!" Flying Scotsman then came in and said, "No it doesn't. Our class was the first on record to hit 100 mph! I should know, I was the one!" Achilles just rolled his eyes. "I'll see it when I believe it."
The next day, Gordon was complaining about Achilles' as he backed down on his coaches. "It's disgraceful!" he said to Penny, "Saying that our extra wheels and side rods slow us down!! Well, I'd like to see him go faster than me on the express." Achilles then came up and said, "Maybe I'll show you." The arrangements were made, and when Achilles backed down on the coaches, there was a small sound as he applied his brakes, but no one noticed. "Now, I'll show you how fast I can go." Mallard was pulling a small goods train, and he saw Achilles. I'll show him that cylinders on the outside and rods are just as good as cylinders on the inside. So, the guards blew their whistles, and the two set off.
Achilles and Mallard raced along the line, and Mallard over took Achilles. "How is this possible!?!" asked Achilles. "Well," said Mallard, "I am the fastest engine on the island. I also hold the world record for fastest steam engine in the world!" Mallard then picked up speed, and hurried along. Just then, the signal turned red, and Mallard applied his brakes. Henry had a heavy goods train coming, and Mallard had to let him go first. Achilles laughed, as he raced off to the station.
Soon, Achilles approached the station, and he braked hard, and his breaks squealed really hard. Emily was surprised at this. "Are you okay Achilles?" "Never better," replied Achilles. Soon, he took off once more, and headed to the end of the line. He stopped once more, and his brakes squealed once more, but he couldn't stop. His driver shut off steam, but Achilles was still at full speed! Soon, he hit the buffers, and ran up on the platform. Luckily, no one was hurt, but Achilles' buffers and guide wheels were badly damaged.
(Y/N) and the rail tour manager came, and (Y/N) said, "I don't mind visiting engines helping out, but I don't appreciate them running at dangerous speeds so close to stations. You have caused a great deal of Confusion and Delay!" The inspector came up, and said, "I found the problem, he was leaking brake fluid. The pipe had been cut, and it leaked all over the tracks." (Y/N) and the rail tour manager looked at each other, and the manager said, "Well, I guess you could say Achilles' Speed was one in a million."
Soon, the rail tour was pulled by Flying Scotsman, and Achilles was sent to the works. When he was repaired, he said, "I'm sorry I was rude to you." "It's alright," said Emily, "It could happen to any engine." "Besides, Gordon know's what it's like to hit a station. Once, he ran into a station wall, and over looked the whole town!" Achilles laughed, and said, "I'm greatfull that I actually crashed. It helped me see some sense." Everyone had to laugh.
