Back In Auradon

Elena POV

I readjusted my faux fur white hat as I looked at my reflection, making sure everything was good to go for the long ride back to Auradon. Yup, it's already time to go! Just like that... well, not just like that. I think it's safe to say Harry and I had the craziest winter vacation in the history of winter vacations.

Let's see... we went to Ahtohallan, I remembered how my dad really passed away, Harry confessed that he loves me and I did the same, we had our first kiss which was my first kiss, then we found the ice palace, I found out about my moms past a little bit more, and ultimately... it's been an emotional rollercoaster.

More for me than Harry I think I can safely assume.

I'm just so glad he's so great, he's been a sort of rock for me through all of this self-discovery stuff, always staying nice and steady for me to latch onto when I need. And through it all, he's just loved on me! Even before he was my official boyfriend, he was loving on me and making me feel so much safer with all of his wonderful techniques of calming me down! From giving me purposely tight hugs to make me feel safe during a panic attack, all the way to simply holding my hand and rubbing it with his thumb to remind me that I'm alright, who knew that the guy I used to have to cradle and take care of every minute of the day would become such a caring ball of love and happiness once he got to stand on his own two feet!

"Ellie? Ye about ready?"

Speaking of Harry, there he is! He casually spoke as he opened the door to my room as he's been packing up and getting ready back in his room for a while now. I pivoted on my heels to look over at him for a moment before looking over to my collection of packed suitcases,

"Yup! I just gotta call Bruni so he's not left behind"

I quickly whistled the little tune and sure enough, already hiding in one of my bags was Bruni who poked his head out and let out a little squeak as he stuck his tongue out a little bit. I giggled and trotted on over to my bags and picked up the small one Bruni was in and held it close,

"Alright! The guards should be up in a few minutes to pick up our things, wanna head down now?"

Harry hummed ever so lightly before giving me a warm smile and walking on over to me, he put his arm around my shoulder and nodded once,

"That sounds like a good plan, I'm eager ta take a nice long nap on the ride back I won't lie"

I giggled a little bit and leaned on him ever so slightly as we walked out of my room and began making our way downstairs, Bruni safely in the bag I carried with me. I know my mom, aunt, and uncle are all waiting for us downstairs, but I have a feeling saying goodbye to all of them is gonna be a lot harder than last time.

I don't know, I just feel like we've all gotten so much closer during all of this emotional rollercoaster nonsense! I mean I will get to see my mom soon enough, apparently Auradon Prep has something called Family Day where a member of your family can come visit the grounds! I'm already excited about that I won't lie, but first I have to say goodbye again which is gonna be sad. Regardless, I'm leaving here with a lot more than before, even the necklace my dad was meant to give me for my birthday all those years ago that I still haven't taken off, it makes me feel so much better. I get to see my dad's face whenever I like, and that's a gift for sure.

We walked downstairs and were immediately greeted by my mom who was waiting for us at the bottom of the stairs, she greeted us with a warm smile as she motioned to the guards to head on up and grab our things which they hurried upstairs to do,

"Oh my, the three weeks have gone by so fast"

My mom said as she walked up to the stairs to greet us, her long dark blue dress dragging behind her just a little bit. I sighed with a smile and looked over to Harry for a moment before looking back over to my mom,
