-Four Months Until Descendants 3-
Elena POV
I kept my eyes closed, taking long deep breaths as I sensed my surroundings. I simply tried to focus as hard as I could, I'm sitting cross-legged on the ground with my hands pressed on the ground, everything around me as still as I think it could be. Ever since the day my mom told me about the fact that I'm a product of all the spirits and such I've been trying to take on my magic and abilities that I didn't even know I had, and boy is it tricky trying to figure out things that you have no clue how to even access! I have gotten rather good at getting the wind to spiral around me, but I already knew how to do that even if I didn't know how that was me, not Gale doing that. I've also been reflecting on what situations in the past have possibly been me and which ones have indeed been the other spirits protecting me.
The only things I could hear were the breeze, the leaves softly blowing in the calm wind I was creating, the occasional rustle of a bush that inevitably belonged to the resident wildlife, and of course the soft sound of a pencil scratching on paper. The added sound was lulling, and knowing where it was coming from was even more lulling. Harry had accompanied me today for my connecting and such, but he's been nice and quiet since I started to concentrate, not even speaking as to not interrupt my thoughts and concentration. He brought a little sketchpad with him and has been nicely entertained as he's been keeping me company.
I slowly opened my eyes as I took a long sigh, for this was a whole lot harder than I thought it would be. It's really difficult when you don't even know what you're supposed to be doing, it's purely trial and error! So after having done this every day since Family Day and still not being anywhere truly substantial feels a little frustrating. Once I opened my eyes, the wind spiraled around a little more before slowly dissipating, I hung my head a bit and took a deep breath before turning around and peeking at Harry who glanced up at me just as I looked over at him, he was comfortably leaning against a tree with a leg propped up to support his sketchbook, the other was stretched out which just added to how comfortable he looked,
"That last spiral ya did was really good love, it looked stronger than the other ones"
Harry said as soon as he realized he could talk again, for now while I learn I just like being in a super calm environment so that means no talking which he's been great about, I sighed a bit before simply flopping over to lay fully on my back on the soft grass. I looked at him upside down and played with the fresh spring grass some with my fingers,
"Yeah? I still don't feel like I'm doing something right... not to mention I can apparently do this sort of thing with water, fire, and the earth somehow and I have no clue how I'm supposed to figure that out"
Harry let his propped up knee fall so he could see me easier, he simply smiled at me and chuckled a bit as he tilted his head to the side a bit,
"Well keep in mind ye only started truly working on this a week ago or so, give yerself a wee bit of slack. Hell, think about how much we learned just a week ago about ya, don't rush yerself ta learn things from the ground up"
I casually rolled over on the grass so I could lay on my stomach, Harry chuckled a bit as I held my head up with one hand and tried to peek over at his sketchbook as I hummed a bit to myself,
"I just wish I knew what I was even looking for you know? It's hard learning about something you already know nothing about"
Harry nodded a bit and seemed to share his support simply through his smile,
"I get that, aye didn't ye talk about seeing colors the other day? When ye were little?"
I giggled a bit and nodded before taking a bit of a sigh, I decided to roll a bit more on the grass. So I rolled all the way over to Harry and seamlessly rolled over to him and laid my head on his lap, looking up at him I couldn't help but giggle again,
