Cheerful laughter filled the open pasture. A little girl with purple hair ran through the tall grass, with a handful of daisies in her hands. A young boy with dark blue hair ran behind her, with some more daisies in his hands.
"I'm gonna give her mine first!" The girl taunted, her voice bubbly and youthful.
"No you're not! I'm giving mine first!" The boy yelled back.
The two children continuing running through the tall grasses, until they approached a plump woman with tumbling dark blue locks who was tending to the large garden. Upon hearing the pounding of the children's little feet, she turned her head to look at them, her bright green eyes locking on them. Her plump lips turned upwards into a warm smile.
"Hello you two, shouldn't you be with your father?" The women asked, as the kids skidded in front of her.
"For you-" The boy began to say.
"I brought you daises mom!" The girl cut the boy off and thrusted her little bouquet towards her mother. "I picked them myself."
"Hey! I was going to give her them first!" The little boy pouted.
The women smiled, taking the grubby bouquet from her daughter and smelling the fresh flowers.
"Thank you darling, these are very nice." The women said before turning her gaze to the boy. "And how about you, are you giving me something?"
The boy's pout disappeared and he lifted his bouquet up to his mom. He gave her the brightest smile he could manage. Smiling back at her young son, she took the bouquet out of his hand.
"Mine is better, right? I picked the prettiest flowers." The girl argued, unhappy with the lack of attention on her.
"No mine is better, it's bigger!" The boy retorted, whirling on the girl.
"Children." The woman spoke, her melodic voice soothing them. "There is no need to fight. I like them both, besides..." She paused, putting all of the flowers in one hand to make one medium-sized bouquet. "...don't they look better together?"
"Yeah they do!" The girl cheered, "Look at that!"
The woman smiled at her daughter, her green eyes entrancing.
"Good, now always remember my darling. We are always better together."
Galatea awoke in a cold sweat, panting and sitting up. Her head was hammering against her skull, and she took several deep, frantic breaths as she regained her senses. Scanning her eyes around the room, she sighed in relief when she was just in her bedroom. No fields, no familiar looking people. Relaxing her body slightly, she lowered her head, letting her bangs fall in front of her eyes.
Just who were those people? Why- Why did they look so much like...
"Tea?" A gruff voice came from next to her.
The dragonslayer turned her head and the sound of her boyfriend's voice who she was laying in bed with. Reaching out slightly to intertwine their fingers, Galatea took several breaths.
"I'm alright. Just a nightmare." Galatea assured him.
That was too real to be a nightmare. It was... like a memory. From a long time ago... from a time that I had forgotten.
"Mmm okay." Laxus said sleepily. "Come back to bed. You need the sleep."
Galatea nodded, laying back down under the warm covers. One of Laxus's large arms wrapped around her back and pulled her into his bare chest. Galatea burrowed her face into the crook of his neck as she tried to forget what she just saw.
