'You let me win.'

I grumble as I walk over to her. She shrugs her shoulders, trying to look innocent as she murmurs.

'Got no idea what you're talking about.'

'Little lier, you held back...'

I groan, pulling her to me while leaning my arm over her shoulders. She quirks her eyebrow as if she's silently asking me how I dare to suggest such a thing while she murmurs.

'You promised your mom not to take it too far, I was just making sure you were keeping that promise.'

'By letting me win?'

I question. You know I hate winning like this... I eye her, only making her chuckle some more as she answers.

'It was for the greater good.'

'Do I still get a wish?'

I smirk as she passes her tongue over her dry lips and teases.

'It'll be your last one, birthday boy... I can't keep spoiling you too much, otherwise, you'll get used to it.'

I huff a laugh, pecking her lips before taking her under my wing and walking toward the house as I whisper.

'Sing for me...'

She looks up surprised that I'd make such a request, convinced I was going to ask her something other than that. Probably imagining more lewd things... I smile sideways, leaning a little closer to her ear as I tell her in a hushed tone.

'You told me yesterday that I could sneak into your room later tonight, so I got that part already covered...'

She blushes furiously, clearly having forgotten about that as she mutters.

'See? This is what I meant by spoiling you! But a deal is a deal. Come on, I'll sing you something.'

She grabs my hand, walking around back so we won't get noticed as we enter the house. Her mind runs in overdrive as she drags me toward the piano room. Smiling she slips behind the bench, looking up at me while she asks.

'Any requests?'

I shake my head, just happy she's willing to sing for me at all. Her fingers glide over a few keys and I see her muscles instantly relax as she closes her eyes and inquires.

'You like soul, right?'

I give her a slight nod, knowing she won't see it while wondering how she even knows that about me. I thought she only knew about my preference for Rock music. Maybe Rebekah told her? She takes my silence as a yes and I lean down on the corner of the piano. Thinking for another minute before smiling knowingly. A soft blush taints her cheeks as her fingers swiftly start to drag themselves over the keys like it's their second nature, her angelic voice mesmerizing me the second she opens her mouth and starts to sing.

When I realize which song she has picked I can't suppress a soft laugh, immediately understanding the meaning behind her words. Clever one... I smirk, bathing in the sound of her voice. Her eyes flash over to me at times, a smile still tugging on her lips as her vocal cords easily reach all of the higher notes. Her signature sound lifting the song to a whole other level, completely making it her own.
