36: Thunder

The following morning came and Izumi woke up to realize she had fallen asleep at her dining table. She stretched her arms and back and rubbed her eyes. 

"I should get ready for work, glad I didn't have that dream again." Izumi said getting up. She looked at the time, she woke up early again. 

'Guess my body's still used to waking up early. I can go to work on time today since I completed the assignment early.' Izumi thought. She went into the bathroom and had a nice hot shower. She walked out of the bathroom when she was done and went into the kitchen and made herself some breakfast. 

As she was in the middle of eating breakfast, she heard her phone buzz. 

'Hmm?' she grabbed her phone to look at a text message from Emra.

I managed to clear my schedule and will arrive in Japan this upcoming Monday. Let me know if anything serious happens involving your quirk and I will try coming sooner. 

Izumi smiled, she was glad she made this decision to call her therapist. 

Thanks Emra, I'll be prepared for your visit, and I'll let you know if anything bad comes.

Izumi got dressed for work and felt like her hair was getting in the way. 

"I really need to get a haircut. I've been so busy that I haven't been able to do anything fun. What am I saying, I'm spending more time with Kacchan now than I ever did when we were kids..." Izumi paused and looked back at herself in the mirror. 

She grabbed a hair clip and wrapped her hair up into a messy bun. She didn't feel like wearing her contacts, so she stuck with her black specs. 

'Once Emra comes, I'm sure everything will get easier.' Izumi thought and left to go to work.

Izumi handed the notebook to her boss and took a few steps back. She watched as her boss, David Shields, looked through the book and noticed how much of notes and details there were. 

"How many heroes did you acquire, Midoriya?" 

"247, sir." Izumi said. 

"So it seems you managed to get more heroes than I thought, but I should've anticipated this. You have done your task for this week, the deadline for Dynamite's suit has been extended. But don't expect me to extend it again in the future." he said. 

"Yes sir." 

"Has your quirk been causing anymore problems at work?" he asked. 

"No sir." Izumi said. 

"Good, let's hope your quirk doesn't get in the way of our goals again, understand, Midoriya?" 

"Yes sir."

Izumi left the office and was able to catch her breath. 

'Why is it every time I have to talk to Mr. Shields, I can't breathe properly. He was one of All Might's closest friends and colleagues, so I shouldn't be afraid of him.' Izumi thought. 

"Everything okay, Izumi?" Izumi looked up to see Melissa. 

"Melissa, how long have you been standing there?" 

"Not long, you just went to speak to my father, right? Did you manage to get your recent assignment done?" Melissa asked. 

"Yes, now the deadline's been extended, I'm saved for another week." Izumi said.
