96: Two Melodies

"You want me to sleep with you?" Izumi asked as she started to blush. 

"Is that a problem?" 

"W-Well no, it's just that I thought I would be sleeping in the guest bedroom while I'm here just so-" 

"Shuddup and c'mere." Katsuki said and reached his arms out to her while he was sitting on the bed. Izumi felt her chest beating faster, was this safe? 

"You won't do anything bad, will you?" Izumi asked. 

"Tch- if you try to run, then maybe." Katsuki said, Izumi blushed again. She took a deep breath and reached out to grab his arms, and he tugged her to come towards him and onto the bed. They laid down, and Katsuki held her tightly to his chest.

"I'll know if you leave, so don't run from me." Katsuki said and started petting her head. 

"O-Okay..." Izumi felt really warm in his embrace, this was comfortable and calming. There was a long silence, Izumi just assumed that Katsuki went to sleep as he stopped petting her. 

"K-Kacchan? Are you asleep?" Izumi whispered, trying to look up at him. 

"No." Izumi froze, she couldn't escape this if he's awake. 

"Deku." 

"Hm?" 

"What did you do when you saw me that night?" Katsuki asked. 

"That night? What night?" Izumi asked. 

"On your birthday, what did you do when you saw me? How did you feel seeing me?" Katsuki said.

Izumi had to think back to that night 2 weeks ago, the night of her birthday. 

"Umm... when you sent me that text, I felt very excited... But when I noticed you hadn't come after an hour, I wasn't sure what was going on. After waiting for 3 hours... I was getting a little upset and a little angry because... I thought you forgot about me..." Izumi said. 

"Hmph, stupid Deku, why would I forget about you?" Katsuki said, still with his eyes closed. 

"But when you called me and said you were outside my apartment... the thought of being angry went away. I ended up getting scared when I saw how many injuries you had that night." Izumi said.

"What did I do?" Katsuki asked. 

"Well..." Izumi had to find the right words to explain this. 

"Hmm... you tried to lift your hand out to me, but your entire body came falling forward towards me and I had to catch you. You tried to use all your energy and lifted your head and got close to my ear. 'It's your birthday so I came.' That's what you said before you passed out in my arms. I turned on the tv and saw the news that you went missing, but you never went missing, you came to me." Izumi said.

"Did you try to take me to the hospital?" Katsuki asked. 

"I tried calling all the hospitals that were around the area, but they all said they were at full capacity and they couldn't take you." Izumi said. 

"So what did you do?" Katsuki asked, his voice was so calm. 

"I ended up cleaning and disinfecting your entire body, and it took me a couple hours too. I didn't think to call Takashi until I finished everything, but at least he was awake at the time I asked for his help. He told me he would come to my apartment the following morning and take you to his hospital. I don't think I got a lot of sleep that night either..." Izumi said. 

"Why?" 

"Because... all I could think was that it was my fault you got hurt." Izumi said.

Katsuki loosened his hug and looked down at her.
