The following morning arrived and Izumi got up early just to finish work early. Izumi arrived to work early long before the other scientists were awake.
'If I want to get this design done, I need to have enough time to figure out what to do. First I need to look at materials that can withstand large amounts of body heat and explosions. Kacchan's explosions have gotten much stronger recently, so I'm going to have to find something that's durable but not suffocating him. Then I can find a way to enhance his quirk into his suit. He already uses those gauntlets, but they already explode after one go. This needs to be updated so it won't only explode in one go, but he won't end up hurting his own arm. Hah... this is going to be harder than I thought.' Izumi thought.
After a couple of hours of looking after designs of hero suits from the past, Izumi was still stuck.
It wasn't even the design, she was just looking for the material to use for his suit.
Unfortunately, she went through all the records and couldn't find a single thing.
'How can this happen? How has not one hero had at least the same kind of quirk as Kacchan? This can't be impossible for me to solve, can it?' she thought. Just when she was taking a break, a knock on the door came.
She looked up to Melissa entering her office.
"Good morning Izumi, you look exhausted." Melissa said.
"Tell me about it, I've been looking at past designs for the past 2 hours." Izumi said.
"You got here that early? Don't you think you're thinking too hard about this?" Melissa said.
"But how can I stop here? The hardest part right now isn't even designing the suit, but finding the right material!" Izumi said.
"All you've been looking at is... material?" Melissa asked.
"Yeah, not one hero suit in the records said anything about durable and flammable material." Izumi said.
"You're working on Dynamite's suit right, so why does this seem so important to you? Heroes destroy their suits all the time for them to only get repaired right after." Melissa said.
"But this is Dynamite! If I'm gonna do this, I have to do it the right way and beyond. Do you even remember the last time All Might destroyed his suit?" Izumi said.
"That is a good point, but Uncle Might didn't have a quirk like Dynamite though. Did you ever think to ask the previous Number 2 hero?" Melissa asked.
"Endeavour? Yeah, like that would work. His suit was like armor, and I'm sure Dynamite wouldn't want his suit to look like that." Izumi said.
"Well it doesn't hurt to experiment on what kinds of materials we haven't tested out yet. It could take some time, but that's what we scientists do. We create hypotheses and test them out until we end with a satisfying conclusion. And it's not always going to be on the first try." Melissa said.
"That's true... I guess I'll have to work overtime again and do my tests on the weekends." Izumi said.
"Don't sweat it Izumi, I thought you enjoyed making hero suits?" Melissa said.
Michelle was right, the only reason Izumi chose this field of work was because she enjoyed helping other heroes.
"I guess you're right, I'll get back to work then." Izumi said.
But before she managed to look into anything else, there was a knock on her door.
"Yes, come in?" Izumi said.
