57: Thumping

Izumi got home quietly, hoping that Emra didn't hear her. But once Izumi got into her apartment, she still didn't hear anything. She looked around her apartment to find that Emra still wasn't home. 

'That's weird, I hope Emra didn't get drunk.' Izumi thought. 

She changed her clothes and laid down in her bed. She stared at the ceiling and couldn't help but remember what happened about an hour ago. 

'He kissed me... Kacchan actually kissed me. Though he wasn't drunk, it was nice... and his eyes, they were so intense but so soft all at the same time. Has anyone else seen this side of Kacchan before, besides me? If not, then I want to be the only one seeing him like that, it was... it was nice...' Izumi thought and smiled to herself as she went to sleep for the night.

The next morning came and Izumi woke up from the sunlight hitting her face. She slowly opened her eyes and knew it was time for her to get up. She looked at the time; 9:03. 

'It's already so late in the morning, oh yeah... I'm off from work for today...' Izumi thought, rubbing her right arm. The pain wasn't as strong as before, so she could cope with it for the time being. 

'Let's just find something to do for the day then.' Izumi thought, getting up from her bed.

She walked into the living room and noticed how quiet it still was, Emra wasn't there. 

'I hope Emra doesn't have a hangover. Let's try calling her first.' Izumi thought. She grabbed her phone and dialed Emra's number and waited for an answer. It took a few seconds but then she heard; "Hello?" 

"Emra, it's Izumi." Izumi said. 

"Oh Izumi... sorry I just woke up, so give me a second." Emra said. 

"It's fine, what happened? Did you get drunk?" Izumi asked. 

"No, Saeko did. I was the only one that could watch her the entire night, and she's a bit different when she's drunk. She can stay up the entire night without getting sleepy, so she didn't fall asleep until 4 in the morning." Emra said.

"So then, how much sleep did you get?" Izumi asked. 

"Not a whole lot, and now I have to stay and watch Saeko to make sure she's not sick. That and I'm going back to sleep. Did you need anything?" Emra asked. 

"N-No! I was just making sure you were okay. So go get some sleep and I won't bother you unless it's necessary." Izumi said. 

"Thanks Izumi, I should be fine by tomorrow." Emra said. 

"Y-Yeah, so go get some rest. I'm off work for today, so I'll find something else to do." Izumi said. 

"Right, just let me know if your arm is in any pain." 

"I-I'l just call Kendra if that happens, I don't want to interrupt your sleep." Izumi said. 

"Thanks, I'll talk to you later." Emra said and hung up.

'Poor Emra, she's always having to take care of other people and not herself. I'm sure that's why Dr. Gunner is always so worried about her.' Izumi thought and then remembered what she heard Katsuki say the night before. 

"Because... I miss her..." 

Her face turned flush and her chest was beating fast again. That's when she realized that she and Katsuki actually kissed the night before too.
