169: Young and Free

The following morning came and Izumi could tell she was laying on something pretty warm. She slowly opened her eyes to see she was still on top of Katsuki, and was laying on his chest. 

'Hmph, I didn't get any nightmares last night, even with all that rain and thunder.' Izumi thought with a smile. 

She looked up at Katsuki who was still lying fast asleep and she sat up and stared at his sleepy face. 

'Thank you for always being there when I need you, Kacchan.' Izumi thought and gently kissed his forehead. She noticed how warm his face was when she kissed him, so she placed her hand on his forehead. 

'He's burning up, does he have a fever?' Izumi thought.

She carefully got up from the couch and grabbed the thermometer and checked his temperature to see he indeed had a fever. 

'Again? He must've been working too hard to look for me yesterday that he forgot about himself again. Oh well, let's just get him to bed and see if he'll feel better after resting all day.' she thought as she tried to lift him off the couch. 

He seemed a lot heavier when he was sick than when he was drunk in the past. 

"Geez Kacchan, why're you so heavy?" Izumi said, struggling to carry the large ash blond over her shoulder.

She managed to get him to his bed and then grabbed the first aid kit and did everything she could on her part. 

She placed a cooling strip on his forehead and chest, had a few cold bottles of water on the nightstand and some towels just in case. 

"Okay. I'll come back in a few hours to give you some medicine and food, okay Kacchan?" she said, but knew he wasn't listening. 

She could tell how his expression was tired and drained, she rubbed his hair and then went back into the living room.

Once she went into the living room, she heard her phone ringing and looked to see it was Emra. She grabbed her phone and took a deep breath and answered. 

"Hello?" 

"Izumi! Oh thank goodness you answered. Are you doing okay?" Emra asked. 

"Yeah, I'm just peachy." Izumi said happily. 

"Are you sure? I know how much you hate lightning storms and you can't sleep when it rains." Emra said. 

"No worries, Kacchan was with me the entire night so I didn't have nightmares." Izumi said. 

"You- you didn't?" 

"Nope."

"Then where were you yesterday, I tried calling you and tried to look for you everywhere." Emra said. 

"I went to Kacchan's once I got off work, the power went out over here so I had no way of contacting anyone. That and I was a little traumatized by the lightning I saw outside, but everything was okay once Kacchan got home." Izumi said. 

"Hah- that's good to hear. I was a bit surprised that Katsuki didn't think you were afraid of lightning." Emra said. 

"Yeah, but it's okay. He's resting now, he seemed to overwork his body too much yesterday." Izumi said.

"Let me guess, he's got a fever?" Emra said. 

"Yup." 

"Then just stay over there for the weekend. The forecast said it was going to rain all weekend, and I don't want you going outside in this weather." Emra said.
