A New Beginning

"Where am I?" Adam asks as he looks around him. All he can see is an endless world of pure white extending so far as to blur the divide between land and sky.
"You're where you deserve to be." a familiar voice whispers in his ear.
Quickly he turns around to confront the voice.
But instead of a person he sees a decapitated head floating in an ocean of blood, one half of the face visible. Even the sky around him turns blood red.
"You did this to me." the head says, sounding exactly like Seth's older brother Able.
"No." Adam says stepping back, but as he gives that step he falls back into the pool of blood.
"You did this to all of us." Able says, his voice cold and emotionless.
All of a sudden the ocean of blood around Adam is filled with even more heads.
He immediately recognises them as they are the faces of his loved ones. But, floating in a cluster in front of him are the heads of the Lot children. Mira, Seth, Ruth, Eve, Peter, John, Able and even the head of an unborn wolf baby.
"You did this to us." the heads chant in unison.
"You did this to us." they say again.
"You did this to us." they chant and with every chant they seem to get louder even though they are not raising their voices.
"You did this. YOU did this. YOU DID this." they say again.
Then a sudden silence.
For a moment Adam thinks it's over but then they shriek, "YOU DID THIS!!!!!!"
"Fuck!" Adam shouts shooting upright in his bed.
Grasping his blanket in both hands he gasps for air as he tries to shake off the dream.
"You ok?" someone next to him asks.
Confused, he looks to see Irina looking up at him from underneath the blanket.
"Come on, get some sleep. You can tell me all about it in the morning." she says pulling him in.
When she turns her back to him it's clear that she wants him to hold her.
He decides to comply but just as he's about to put his arm around her he feels her naked fur on his bare skin.
"Uhm, Irina?" he says feeling his face turn red.
"Yes?" she asks, clearly enjoying his embarrassment.
"Your not wearing any clothes." he explains, stuttering.
"I know. I sleep like this." she replies, cuddling up to him.
"Oh." he says.
After a brief struggle he places his arm around her, although doing his best to avoid the jiggly areas.
Not long after he falls asleep again and this time he doesn't have a nightmare.
"Wake up." he hears someone say through the fog of sleep.
With a groan he opens his eyes to see that it's Irina, already dressed in her maid uniform. Somehow he'd imagined those to be more revealing.
"Get dressed. Breakfast is waiting for you downstairs." she says before leaving the room.
After rubbing the sleep from his eyes he gets dressed in his new school uniform.
Once he's finished he looks at himself in the mirror.
"I look richer than I am." he says to himself as he looks at the uniform in all it's white and purple glory.
Once he's done brushing his hair he goes downstairs where he finds the others already eating breakfast.
"Morning." he greets them.
"Morning." the reply, some after swallowing, some still chewing.
"Where's Pete and Ruth." he asks noticing that they are absent.
"Still asleep. Since there are no schools for them nearby I have hired a tutor. He should arrive within the hour." Cora replies.
Adam nods before assaulting his cereal with milk and sugar. He then proceeds to massacre every last flake using the greatest weapon known to Anima. The spoon.
"Now that your fully awake, I'd like to ask you what that nightmare was all about?" Irina asks, putting a cup of coffee down in front of him.
For a moment it looks like he's not gonna say anything but then he gives a sigh and explains his dream to them.
The table falls eerily silent as everyone mentally pictures the dream.
"Uhm, who's Able?" Yang asks all of a sudden.
"Able was my older brother. Until Lilith saw fit to relieve him of his head." Seth replies, after swallowing very loudly.
Yang then has an 'Oh' expression on her face before everyone goes back to their breakfast although with less vigor than before.
Once everyone is finished they run up to their rooms to brush their teeth.
After Adam is finished he grabs his school bag and slowly strolls downstairs.
Downstairs he finds everyone waiting for him.
"You guys could've left already." he says, checking his watch.
"Nonsense. We go as a family." Cora scoffs at him.
One by one they leave the house until only Adam, Irina, Pete and Ruth are left.
Turning to Irina Adam say, "Take care of them for me."
Just as he's about to leave he gets spun around as Irina gives him a deep kiss.
"Be careful with this school." she says breaking the kiss.
He gives her a nod before leaving.
"Ready to go?" Cora asks smiling mischievously.
Adam notices the other looking away for some reason.
"Yeah." Adam replies.
It was time to begin a new life in a new home with a new family.
Meanwhile halfway across the globe Ben is listening to a bunch of old Generals debating whether or not they should get better lightbulbs for the APC's.
Luckily his saving grace arrives in the form of an intern.
"Uhm, sir. Your unit is ready." she whispers trying not to be noticed by the other Generals.
"If you will excuse me, gentleman." he says taking his leave.
"What's the setup." Ben asks the intern as they walk.
"Well sir, you will be squad leader. The new operator, Cain, has shown proficiency in explosives and as such he will be your demolitions unit.
Reaper will be your sniper and Able will be scout." she explains.
Out of the group Reaper is the one he knows the least about.
"Who will be team co-ordinator?" he asks taking the data pad she hands him.
"That will be Hudson." she replies.
"I don't want him. Is there anyone else?" he asks.
"Not currently sir. I will ask the higher ups if anyone can be transferred." she says almost apologetically.
"No need. You can do it." he says stopping in front of his new barracks.
"But sir, I have no experience. I'm just an intern." she explains, pushing her glasses back in place.
It's odd for him to see a cat wearing glasses.
"You can learn. Besides I don't want any stuck up old people coordinating this team." he says honestly.
Without another word he opens the door to the barracks and steps inside.
The people inside immediately look up at him.
In the far corner is Cain, the former student council president at his own school. He also happens to be the only psycho squirrel Ben had ever heard of.
On the right, sitting on his bunk sharpening a knife is Able. Able is one of the few people who ever get to speak with Lilith face to face.
"Hey." the large black wolf greets before continuing to sharpen his knife.
Then Ben's attention is drawn to the person sitting in the darkest part of the room cleaning his sniper rifle. Reaper. Ben can barely make out the features of a hawk underneath the black hood.
Ben then glances at the rifle. A CheyTac M200 Intervention. With it's .408 rounds and it's 2500 yard range it is effectively the deadliest sniper rifle in the world.
'So, this is my unit.' Ben thinks to himself as he looks at them.
For a moment he wonders what Adam is doing and if he's happy or not.
He quickly shrugs it off and starts organising a training exercise to gauge their ability in combat as well as their compatability as a unit.
Whether Adam was happy or not wouldn't matter once they set their plan in motion. All that matters is returning the Earth to peace. With whatever means necessary.
