"This is it huh." Adam says as he looks out over the Australian outback from the chopper he's flying in.

"That's right. We'll be landing soon so get ready." Cora responds.

A few days earlier they had recieved word that Eden was moving their forces into Australia.

Reason? Because Australia had an experimental power station. The only thing that could generate enough power for Lilith's machine. The machine that would wipe out all intelligent life on the planet.

Soon the chopper lands on the roof of a hotel. From where they are they're only an hour's drive from Eden's forces.

"We're glad you finally made it. We've done most of the preparation. You'll be moving out tomorrow." Cora says after Adam gets out of the chopper.

"Good. I assume it'll be a halo insertion?" He asks her.

"That's right. Simultaneously well launch multiple offensives on their lines so as to create as much confusion as possible. And if we're lucky our troops might even break through." She responds.

The two then get into an elevator that takes them a few floors down.

It's on this floor that Adam finds the squad he'll be taking into battle.

They are Henry, Francoise, and Stella's father. Among soldiers and whom I don't know.

He was ex spec ops so it was only smart to ask him for help. Even though he threatened to castrate me if I got Stella pregnant before marrying her.

Basically, being a dad.

That night I'm in the dining hall with my friends and family as we enjoy what may be our last meals. Those of us fighting could die out there, and if we fail everyone else will die.

Because of this many of us decided to do the things we've been wanting to do for some time.

At one point I saw Sakura's parents leave the room. Dad went to go see Mom and Francoise went to get drunk while he still could.

When I say Cynthia pull Ben away I wanted to smile but I couldn't.

Even later when I made love to my fiances it wasn't filled with joy or passion. It was slow as if I was savouring it. And I was.

There was a high likelihood that I might die in battle.

Even the next day as we went over our plans, there was no excitement. During the speech it was made clear that glory was not guaranteed, neither was victory. We all know what's at stake.

The drum of the helicopters felt silent as if muffled.

This was it. War.

The end.

The epilogue of my conflict with Eden.

Possibly even the end of my story.

But, it doesn't matter how many of us die, we have to stop this.

Whatever it takes.
