Adam POV

"So I take it you're Charlize van Zyl." I comment upon hearing the name of her uncle.
"You know my uncle?" she asks obviously surprised.
"Him and my dad are good friends." I reply.
"What did he ask you to do with the USB? Knowing him he definitely didn't tell you to keep it." I ask.
"That's right. The letter told me to give it to Henry Lot." she replies, with a nod.
"What?" she asks when she sees my surprised face.
"Henry Lot is my dad." I say.
"Then we should go to him as quickly as possible!" she exclaims while jumping up from her chair.
"Agreed." I add, doing the same.
Within minutes we are out of the school and on our way to my house with Libri trotting along like a proud pony.

Narrator POV

"We've located both the girl and the flash drive father." The young shadow says proudly.
"Good. Send the distraction unit. As for the rest, you know where to send them." Father replies.
"Yes father." The son says before leaving.
"Not long now, then I will overthrow you. Mother of Demons." Father sneers his voice filled with hatred.

Adam POV

"I haven't heard from Francoise in years." Dad says staring at the USB in his hand.
"Did the letter say anything else, like what to do with this thing?" Dad asks.
Charlie just shakes her head in reply.
Suddenly Mom walks into the room with a laptop already booted up.
"Let's see what's on this thing." Dad says plugging the drive into the laptop. A few seconds later I see his eyes go wide in shock.
"What is it?" I ask, walking around to see the screen.
My jaw drops when I see it. The drive is named "Eden".
What the hell is going on?
Suddenly everyone look up, their ears upright as if scanning.
"Everyone get down!" Dad yells dropping to the floor.
I instinctively do as he says, immediately dropping to the ground.
As if on cue the house gets ripped to shreds by a barrage of gunfire.
I feel my heart start to pound and my throat dry up. I flinch with every round being fired. Then my vision goes blank as I remember that night.

"I need to get away!" I think grinding my teeth just to will myself forward. All around me I can hear gunfire and explosions mixed in with people screaming in pain as they die.
As I drag myself forward across the cold floor I can feel the skin get scraped off of my finger tips. My body feels wet but strangely warm. It's probably blood although I don't know if it's mostly mine or their's.
Am I going to die here? But then why did I fight so hard for survival if I'm only gonna end up dead here?
My vision starts to blur as I try to claw my way outside.
"Come on!!!!" I say through clenched teeth just as everything goes black.

Charlie POV

"Fuck!" I scream as hundreds of bullets tear through the house missing me by inches.
Luckily gunfire only goes on for a few more seconds.
"Grab Adam and follow my wife." Adam's dad says pulling me up.
"What about you?" I ask, shaking in my boots.
"The kids are still upstairs, I need to go get them." he replies before rushing off.
"Come on, grab his other arm!" Adam's Mom shouts pulling him up.
"What's wrong with him?" I ask while throwing his other arm around my neck.
"It's a long story." she replies.
As quickly as possible we move forward. Before long we reach a door that heads downstairs to what I assume is the basement.
We almost fall down the stairs a few times but eventually we make it to a BALLET STUDIO?!
Without saying anything Adam's mom pulls us over to a seemingly random control panel. After inputting a few numbers the floor opens to reveal another set of stairs!
It's at that moment that Adam's dad shows up with seven other people in tow.
Quickly we all rush down into the basement under the basement.
A bunker essentially.
Once everyone's inside Adam's dad presses a button on another control panel closing the stairs behind us.
Meanwhile me and Adam's mom places him down on a bunk bed at the far side of the room.
The eldest girl immediately rushes over to him, while the eldest guy chooses to sit in the farthest corner away from Adam.
The other kids crowd around their parents.
"What just happened?" I ask turning to the parents.
"What happened is our house just got shot to shit by light machine gun fire." Adam's dad replies.
"But why?" I ask confused and scared.
"Partly because of the flash drive. And partly to settle an old score." he says pulling the USB from his pocket and studying it intensely.
What the fuck is going on?

Sakura POV

"Mom, what was that!?" I ask watching the secret stair case close behind us.
"An old friend making herself known." Mom replies sitting down on a bunk bed.
What the fuck is going on?

Narrator POV

"Father, we just got word that the attack failed." the young shadow says, disappointed in his voice.
The father is about to say something when the lights suddenly flash on revealing the student council president and his father.
"You fucking idiot!" a voice suddenly booms through the room as the door flies open.
"What in God's name were you thinking?" Ben says stepping through the door.
"Not only did you let a washed out drunk steal the same flash drive you stole from mother but you let the Lot family get their hands on it!" Ben hisses at the man.
"I apologize sir. I tried to fix my mistake." the old man apologizes, getting out of his chair and falling to his knees in front of Ben.
"How, by attacking a month early?" Ben asks placing his foot on the man's head, shoving his face into the floor.
"Mother has seen fit to give you one more shot to fix the MONUMENTAL pile if shit you just made. She has also restricted all access to Eden's resources as well as having relinquished your access to our systems." Ben says.
"Thank you sir. Your mother is truly a generous woman." the man says, on the verge of tears.
"Pathetic." Ben comments before walking away.
"Let's hope you turn out better." Ben says as we walks past the student council president.
"One more thing." Ben says before leaving the room.
"Mother wants Adam alive."
