Two days later Adam and Jessie are pacing back and forth in the kitchen as they try to call Jacob.

"Why the fuck won't ya answer!" Jessie asks in frustration.

Adam is about to comfort her when they hear the doorbell.

"I'll get it." Adam says as him and Jessie share a worried look.

Adam is shocked when he sees who it is.

"Hey." Michael says when Adam opens the door.

"What do you want." Adam asks, clearly hostile.

"I don't want a fight." Michael replies raising his hands defensively.

"Then why are you here? To give me a message from your boss?" Adam asks, almost spitting it out

"We left Eden." Michael responds. His eyes reflect his sorrow at his friends hatred.

"Why would you?" Adam asks him, still not convinced.

"Because I found out what they did to your Mom." Michael explains.

"So what, you care about people's lives now? Wasn't it your little cult that attacked us and forced us to run away?" Adam accuses.

"I'm, not gonna lie. I didn't leave them for a noble reason. I don't particularly care that they kill people. The reason I left is because I realised that I still care about my friends. At first I told myself that you were just a job, but after you left I..... I realised I cared about all of you. I got so angry when I heard my mother had hurt my friend's family that I challenged her. And without even batting an eye she threw me away. I'm not asking you to forgive me. All I want is a place for us to hide out for a while." Michael explains, stepping aside to reveal a female cat Anima.

"This is Cynthia. She also tried to stand up against them." Adam says.

"I see. Well, I still don't trust you, but I can't very well leave you out here. And who knows, maybe we could use you to get information on Eden." Adam comments as he moves aside so that they could come inside.

When both of them are inside Adam continues.

"Here's what's gonna happen. You and me are going to go talk to Cora. You are going to tell her everything you know about Eden in exchange for hiding here. You friend can wait for us here." Adam explains.

Michael replies with a nod.

As Adam leads Michael upstairs he asks Sakura to keep an eye on Cynthia and Ichika to come with him.

"So, you're Ben's friend? Cynthia right?" Sakura asks.

"Ben? Oh, you mean Michael. I guess you could say that." Cynthia replies, unsure of herself.

Meanwhile up in Cora's office.

"Am I correct in assuming that you will willingly give large amounts of sensitive information to someone who, not even a week ago, was your enemy?" Cora asks Michael.

"That is correct. She betrayed me so I feel no qualms about betraying her." Michael replies.

"You're lying." Ichika says.

"You're right, I am. The truth is it hurts me to do this. You need to keep in mind that she raised me as if she had been my real mother. You can't expect it to be easy for me." Michael explains.

When Adam glances at Ichika she nods back. Michael had told the truth.

"Ok. So tell us, how has Eden been able to slip under the radar of every government on the Earth?" Adam asks.

"They haven't. They're a secret PMC. World governments have used private military companies in the past, but due to those companies being known to the public, they never gave them super clandestine missions. It's for that reason that Eden was formed. They were formed after the war with humanity ended by a man who had seen how morality could cripple an army. He proposed that a secret military group should be formed to run missions that wouldn't even be given to government black ops or mercenaries. His request was accepted and so, to usher in a new age of paradise, Eden was formed. Five years later he was murdered and the woman you know as Lilith took his place. Even though they have a new leader, their goals haven't changed. They're still used by world governments to run the dirtiest of missions. That being said, not all their missions are government sanctioned." Michael explains. He takes a deep breath before going on.

"They may be government run and government funded but that doesn't mean they're a government lapdog. When Lilith came to power she brought a substantial shift in the group's purpose without ever changing the goals. With the previous leader, and according to what we tell the governments, our goal was to protect the world and improve it so that it may one day become a paradise. But Lilith saw that the Anima race was making the exact same mistakes that had led to the destruction of the human race. For that reason she decided that what the world needs is an evolutionary reboot. She would destroy all intelligent life in a way that would leave behind all our history books, thus insuring that whoever came next would learn from our mistakes." Michael finishes.

"And how exactly would she do that?" Adam asks.

"She found blueprints for a bomb that would fry all brains that were developed enough while leaving everything else untouched." Michael replies.

"Then why hasn't she activated it yet?" Adam asks him.

Looking Adam square in the eye Michael responds; "Because she only finished building it a year ago. And needs human DNA to activate it."
