Adam POV

Upon entering the gym, the first thing I notice is Seth as he stands in the centre of the massive building.
I then look around, surveying the area. Boxing rings, punching bags and gym equipment.
Honestly the only thing strange about this school gym is its size. One would think international athletes trained here.
"You wanted to see me?" I ask turning to look at Seth.
"I wanna ask you something." he replies with obvious anger.
"You want to know what happened to Able don't you?" I ask knowing full well where this conversation is going.
"You didn't mention him in your story yesterday." he confirms.
"Dad asked me not to tell you." I give him the honest answer.
"Why?!" he asks getting even angrier.
"Do you really want that memory of him?! Do you really want that image in your head every time you think about him?!" I shout back unable to hold back my own anger.
His eyes open wide and he started at me, shocked.
"I just want to know how he died." Seth whispers barely loud enough for me to hear.
I feel my heart shatter as I see tears fall to the ground while he tries desperately to hold back his sobs.
Able was the oldest of the Lot children. He was nineteen when Eden took me.
Able was..... the perfect big brother and because of that everyone loved him. But the person who loved him more than anyone was Seth. Able was his best friend and the person he told everything.
But then I came home and Able didn't. Something inside of Seth broke and shortly after he broke our bond.
"She decapitated him." I say, removing all emotion from my voice.
"What?" he asks looking up at me, a confused expression on his face.
"It happened when I got out of the tank. He fought Lilith so that I could run away. And then when she attacked me later she lifted his head like a trophy." I explain remembering the smile he gave me as I ran. He didn't hate me or call me a coward. He just looked at me with a relieved smile.
Suddenly Seth falls to his knees and stares at the ground. I do the same as I decide that I won't leave him alone.
Together we sit in silence as the sun moves across the sky. It's dark by the time he says something.
"Thank you, for telling me." he says standing up.
I give a nod as I get back on my feet.
"We should get back." he comments, shuffling past me.
Without a word I follow him back.
Ten minutes later we reach the house. Just as I'm about to open the door someone else opens it from the inside.
I find myself looking a confused Mira straight in the eye. I see that she has one of my jackets in her arm. I presume she was about to come look for me.
Fun fact. Most Anima's don't need to wear sweaters or jackets because of their fur. Only those susceptible to cold ever wear them.
I then see her eyes move to Seth, who's currently standing behind me.
"Where have you two been?!" she asks dragging us both in by our ears.
"I'm sorry but we were having a moment." I reply rubbing my ear.
When she looks at me confused Seth says, "I forced him to tell me how Able died."
All of a sudden she wraps her arms around Seth as tears fill her eyes.
Unlike Seth, Dad had told her how Able had died. He only told her so that, in the event that neither he nor I could tell him, at least she could.
I'm about to leave them alone when I suddenly get pulled into the hug by Mira.
"Able would be proud of the both of you." she whispers like a proud mother.
Eventually we pull apart. With a nod Seth goes upstairs to his room to get some sleep.
"You could've told us you were leaving." Mira growls at me.
"I'm sorry. I didn't want to interrupt your breakfast." I sigh.
"Speaking of. How was breakfast?" I ask her.
"It was...... I think you should ask Cora." she replies, running away.
I decide to take her advice. I jog up the stairs and go straight to room one.
As I approach the room I see that the light is on.
"Cora?" I ask, knocking on the door.
"Come in." she says after a moment.
Carefully I step inside her room.
It always surprises me when I see her room.
A king sized bed, massive mirror, even larger wardrobe and other things I can't even name. Oh and royal looking curtains.
"I'm glad you came. There's something I wanted to discuss." Cora says from across the room.
"Ok? I just wanted to know how breakfast went." I say wondering what she could possibly want to discuss.
"It went rather well. We agreed to share." she replies with a sly grin.
"I'm glad. If this makes all of you happy then I'm happy too." I comment, relieved.
"Which brings me to the topic I wanted to discuss." she says.
I look at her confused.
"Are you happy with this. I know humans used to go gaga for all that soulmate crap." she says.
Before I can reply she goes on, "I understand why you chose this. But something you need to understand is how love works for Anima's. It starts of as simple attraction caused by, what we call soulmate scent. But if that attraction doesn't go away it turns into genuine love. But the big thing that seperates us from humans is sex. While to humans it's nothing more than a physical interaction, to us it's like a wedding ring engraved into your soul. Permanent. Do you want to be married to us or not? That is something you need to decide before one of us tries to sleep with you."
After a moment I reply, "I have given it thought. Most people either fear me or despise me. But all of you, you love me. And I love you. So yeah, I want to be married to you. All of you."
She looks at me for a while before turning to her desk. On her desk I see a microphone.
"You hear that ladies? Seems we'll be sharing for a long time." she says, chuckling into the mic.
"You were broadcasting that? Why would you even have something like that?" I ask feeling very embarrassed.
"The broadcast system is actually for emergencies. That being said, it was meant to be a surprise." she explains.
All of a sudden the girls walk inside with a large cake.
"Happy birthday." they all say together.
"When did you.....?" I trail off trying not to get choked up.
"After breakfast we remembered that today was your seventeenth birthday." Sakura explains, smiling at me.
After everything, I'd forgotten that today was the twentieth of January.
"Thanks, all of you." I say wiping the tears out of my eyes.
All of a sudden I feel someone kiss me as the girls cheer.
I unconsciously kiss back as if this wasn't my first kiss.
When the kiss is over I open my eyes and see Mira looking at me, blushing.
That's when I notice that neither Seth not the kids were present.
"Where are the kids?" I ask remembering that Seth had gone to bed.
"They're asleep. They've had a busy day." Cora says folding her arms around me and kissing me.
We spend the rest of the first half of the night eating cake and chatting. The other girls didn't feel like they were ready to kiss yet and I respected that. Cora and Mira however had been emboldened and would regularly pull me in for another kiss.
Afterwards we all went to our rooms to get some sleep.
Unfortunately I barely slept. Thanks body for feeling to weird to sleep.
In any case, I was looking forward to a new chapter in my life.

Narrator POV

With a sigh Ben wondered what this new chapter in his life would bring. He had left town with the former student council president.
The president had been given a new name to symbolise that he has truly denounced his past and had been reborn as a member of Eden. His new name was Cain.
"Fitting" Ben thought as he looked out of the plane's window.
"I'm glad you chose to join us. Aunt Lilith told me how good you are at leading operations." I stranger sitting across from Ben says.
"I've been meaning to ask. Why did Mother let you keep your name? Huh Able?" Ben asks the large black wolf who just replies with a devious grin.
