The door opens revealing a white rabbit girl about the same age as Adam.
"The human?!" She exclaims clearly surprised to see him.
"Are Sakura and Ichika here?" He asks the girl.
Earlier he'd received a message from Sakura telling him that she'd be spending the night at Ichika's.
"Uh, yeah. Their upstairs in Ichika's room." The girl replies pointing at the staircase behind her.
"May I go see them." Adam asks when the girl doesn't say anything else.
"Yeah, of course." She says but doesn't move out of the way for at least five seconds.
When she does move aside he thanks her before going upstairs. Luckily their names are on the doors otherwise he'd have never been able to find her door.
Taking a deep breath he knocks on the door.
"Come on in Adam." Ichika says from the other side of the door.
"How'd you know it was me?" Adam asks stepping into the room.
" Scent." Sakura replies tapping her nose.
"Of course." Adam says sighing in defeat.
"Something you wanna talk about?" Sakura asks as Adam sits down on a chair across from them.
"Yes, actually. I've been looking into a way to stop your marriages." Adam replies.
When they don't say anything Adam continues.
"And unfortunately in your case I only found one." He says.
They glance at each other before Ichika asks what it is.
"Well, to families as influential as yours marriage is like a contract. And like a contract it becomes null and void once one of the parties involved breaks the terms and conditions set by that contract." Adam explains.
"Yes, we know all this. But how do you propose we make out marriage contracts null and void?" Ichika asks.
"There is only one way. You have to lose the one thing that makes you such valuable goods. Your purity." Adam says carefully.
"You're suggesting we sleep with a random stranger?" Ichika asks clearly a little upset. No doubt she herself already did her research and came upon the same conclusion.
"No. Sakura, will you marry me and become mine on the full moon of this week?" Adam asks turning to Sakura.
"I understand the circumstances are not exactly what you had expected but this is something I've been thinking about for a while now." Adam says, worried that she would get the wrong idea. After all, humans used to wait years before getting married even though they were quite generous with their bedtime antics.
All of a sudden tears start pouring out of Sakura's eyes.
"Are you sure you want to marry someone like me?" She asks, her voice shaking.
"I am." Adam replies.
Them Sakura jumps up and wraps herself around him.
"Yes." She says hugging onto him tightly.
"And you Ichika? Is there anyone you have your eyes on?" Adam asks looking at the Kitsune sitting on the bed.
"Not particularly. I'm not the type of female who will ever marry a man because I love him. Instead I will start to love him because I'm married to him." Ichika replies lost in thought.
Adam had heard that females like those existed. But supposedly they were quite rare in the Anima world.
"But. Even so I would prefer to marry a man who actually cared about his family. Not some playboy heir who only loves wine and money." She adds looking at Adam with a determined expression on her face.
"And have you found such a man?" Adam asks her.
"She has." Sakura says turning to look at Ichika.
"Adam, Sakura has told me much about you. And from the little we have spoken I am inclined to believe her. So let me ask you, is that thing you told me of still going to happen?" Ichika asks.
Sakura is visibly confused but Adam knows she's talking about the fake call he got from Francoise.
"No, it's not. I'm not planning on going anywhere. And even if I had to leave I'm definitely not planning on staying away. After all, a good husband takes care of his wife. Or wives in my case." Adam replies, his voice filled with conviction.
"Good. Then I choose you. Adam, may I become one of your wives?" Ichika asks tilting her head slightly.
Adam is clearly shocked and doesn't know what to say. But after giving it a bit of thought he decides that he'll keep his promise to help protect her as well.
"It would be my honour. And please, you can stop being so formal with me." Adam replies with a cheeky grin.
He was going to have a busy full moon.
