Is it difficult for you to fall or stay asleep at night? Do you wake up fatigued or sleepy during the day, even though you've gotten enough sleep? You could be suffering from a sleep disorder.

Insomnia is a sleep disorder characterized by difficulty falling and staying asleep. Almost everyone experiences periods of sleep deprivation from time to time. However, if a person struggles to fall asleep or wakes up in the middle of the night or early in the morning, finds it difficult to fall back asleep.

Daytime fatigue and reduced energy levels can lead to insomnia. People with insomnia may also experience weaker coping skills, attention and concentration difficulties, memory problems, and even routine problems. However, insomnia mainly affects mood. Insomnia appears to be a major trigger for depression and irritability due to chronic sleep disruption.
