At some point in one's life, one experiences not only contentment or grief but also loneliness. Loneliness is a part of human life, although some are more isolated than others. Loneliness can lead to depression or the development of a different persona in oneself. Isolation can eventually kill one's soul, expecting no hope and ending up in dangerous situations. You feel isolated or separated from the rest of the world, cut off from those with whom you would like to communicate. It can manifest as a vague sense that something is wrong, a kind of minor emptiness. Alternatively, you may experience loneliness as a severe deprivation and deep pain. Loneliness is not synonymous with being alone, and having people around does not guarantee protection from feeling lonely. Loneliness can occur in the presence of many people or when not accompanied by anyone.
